Emma & Ben [Wedding] 28th March 2009

Emma & Ben’s big day came at last, and a fantastic day it was too!  Clare & I joined them during the morning to document preparations in Gomersall & Bingley, before heading over for a Catholic ceremony at Sacred Heart Church in Bingley and over to Woodlands Hotel for warm reception & delicious wedding breakfast. Here are a few of my fave shots of mine from the day… The girls were a lot of fun… …as were the guys! It was a bit chilly outside, but Emma braved the weather for a quick spin around the grounds and both shone...

March’s favourite Leeds Guide images

Just thought I’d post a few images from another interesting couple of day’s shooting for the Leeds Guide.  I’m really pleased with the food shot above at the tasty Bar 166 in Horsforth, lit with window light and a portable reflector.  I’ve done some work with them before and they’re an excellent eatery my girlfriend often frequents, as she works over in Horsforth. When I did the my favourite outfit feature with a dude I’ve lived opposite in Leeds City Centre for years.  We finally got to exchange more than a ‘Hi’ and he’s a sorted bloke.  He works at...

Andrea & Aaron [Pre-Wed]

It was cool to meet up with Andrea & Aaron again for a Pre-Wedding meeting and shoot today.  It was a while since we met, so after a chat about logistics and a nosey around the impressive Morley Town Hall we set about photographically limbering up for the big day!  Morley Town Hall isn’t short of options inside or out, and it’s history means something to me because my mum grew up in Morley and my & grandparents were prominent figures in the area once upon a time. Afterwards we moseyed on down to the Woodkirk Country Club for a...

Louise & Dan [Wedding] 28th February 2009

Dan and Louise’s big day came around at last, on a crisp winters day.  Lots of my friends were around as guests or members of the wedding party.  I’d even photographed Lou’s Dad’s wedding a few years back and it was ace to see Bob & Ruth again.  He’s a dude. We spent the full day with Dan & Lou, starting with bridal preparations, to a soundtrack of old-school 80’s classics, to the giddy gents at Norton Grange Hotel, then over to St James’ Church in Milnrow.  A quick confetti shower & a spin round a chilly Norton Grange later...

Emma & Ben [Pre-Wed]

Emma & Ben’s friends refer to them as ‘Wakefield’s answer to Posh and Becks’, and it was great to see they’d put in the effort when they turned up for their pre-wed meet at Woodlands Hotel in Leeds! You may have heard me harp on about the importance of the pre-wedding shoot, which is why I include one in all my wedding packages. I always try to stress to clients that a pre-wedding shoot is a great way to get relaxed in front of the camera, but ultimately, it’s also a free photoshoot!  I supply the top pre-wed images (in...
