On Sunday I met Angie & Peter at the excellent Kirkstall Abbey for their pre-wedding photoshoot. Kirkstall Abbey is a cool place, though I still get a bit mad with Henry VIII for messing these amazing buildings up, just cos he wanted a new wife. Here are the lovely couple in action! At first they…

I was out on Leeds Guide duties today, shooting features for issue 234. What are the odds that the day I photograph a famous Saville Row tailor in his favourite £3K suit, that I leave the flat in a dash in last nights mud caked jeans? After shooting the tailor in a fancy Leeds Restaurant,…
Last week Mr Lester and I visited an abandoned Victorian youth correctional facility, called Eastmoor Reformatory, nestled away in the back of Adel. It’s a massive complex dating back to the 1880′s, for naughty workhouse kids who’d turned to a life of crime. We only saw a bit of the massive grounds, housing a…
Reminds me of the playgrounds of my child hood; thanks for the journey back! It’s all cleared up too quickly where I live now. I’d love to see a wedding party shoot blended in with this ;~)
cool place. Love these old abandoned houses. Have you seen this? http://www.angelfire.com/extreme4/kiddofspeed/ some of the pictures are rubbish but some are good. really weird with the town being left in a hurry.
Really love these dereliction pictures – theres nothing like this around my way anymore but like was said before brings back memories – thanks for sharing
Great place, your pics inspired me to go and check it out. Check out the pics on the above website Flickr and let us know what you think.
Thanks for the kind comments, it was a real buzz and has given me a taste for more!!!
Loved visiting your site. Great pictures, really interesting. Came across your site whilst I was looking for forgotten or abandoned buildings in leeds.
The Ritz cinema in the Merrion Centre is really interesting too but a bit more difficult (impossible) to get into. some good pictures can be found on http://www.bbc.co.uk/leeds/content/articles/2006/08/10/local_history_odeon_merrion_feature.shtml
my search continues…

Spent hours swiming in that pool it was great,
Introducing the lovely Tracie & Scott… Clare & I joined them on a beautifully sunny Autumnal day at the lovely Woodlands Hotel, just outside Leeds. When I shot Tracie at the pre-wed (here), she & Scott got so nervous before hand they spent a bit of time in the pub to loosen the nerves! Fortunately…
May I whisk you off to the ‘changeable’ Yorkshire Dales for the wedding of Clare & Paul? Come on, don’t be shy. If you’d like to set the scene with their pre-wed, click here. Warning: This blog is epic. There are 56 images below, so I’ve cut the blog in half, and you need to…
My word Yorkshire is beautiful! The opening image is stunning, as is the whole set. You’ve captured every aspect of the day beautifully and the way you’ve worked with the light in the church is exquisite. Fantastic stuff! :~)
That first picture is epic – if it were my wedding, I’d want a huge print of this.
Love the humour and the walking boots too – looks like a fun couple.
[...] pans. I met them when they catered for the wedding of Clare & Paul last year (blog post here). It was particularly nice that they let us eat the same grub as the guests, instead of [...]
My good man Mr Lester & I recently took a little explore at a derelict Mill I run past nearly every week in Leeds. I’ve always been intrigued to find out what was going on in there… This is one part of the imposing mill, this bit still in use. Chin stroking, security scoping &…
Guess where? No prizes there kids! A couple of givaways in shot. This summer I was lucky enough to be asked down to the big smog to photograph the fantastic central London wedding of Louisa & Benjamin. I know Louisa through her sister Mel, who runs the excellent Verve Bar in Leeds where I host…
Wow, what an awesome set of pictures – and it looks like an amazing wedding too! I love the shot where the bride is walking down the street in her veil and only the girl on the left notices
Beautiful. The street scenes are wicked and how cute are the kiddos?
Hey kids. Man – I have been busy! I’m getting lost under that no-time-to-blog cloud, and all of a sudden you’ve too much to blog! Woe is life. But here I am, to the bequest of my fanbase! Or something. Sicily pix have been filed but are still in the pipes, as I’ve been trying…
Loving the fisheye on the video, top drawer!!!! Cheers Cris.
[...] I don’t think my video work this far (such My first wedding video, In Bruges Too, Wardrobe’s 10th Birthday) stands up to these kids, but watch this space as my video contributions develop! I’ve made [...]
Who’s that gimp on a beach trying to look like a model?? Let me explain… I’m part of a fantastic and supportive photographic network called the Randall Network, set up by the clued-up Stewart Randall. He and many of the other togs in this network are also members of the giving photographer & branding guru…
Barnaby, great to meet you, Rob and Phil, Love the shots of Blackpool, and you tell the story of the meet up so accurately! ;o)
[...] 3B Media doing their own thing on the beach (we didn’t want to intrude). They are Barber, Booker, and Barnaby (whose just done his own, much better, post on the meetup here: http://www.barnabyaldrick.com/blog/entry1421) [...]
Awesome shots on the beach there! Great to meet up with the three Bs and hopefully we’ll do it all again soon. Just without any visits to Che-Bar! I’m scarred for life.
Barnaby it was great fun spending the day with you – though it faded into a bit of a haze post chinese. Think someone put something in the prawn crackers. I had amazing fun on the beach, it was fantastic to meet everyone from the 3b media team.
great to meet you all, love the pictures chaps. next time i’m staying for the beers !

Loving the pics, and had a great time. And what’s wrong with VK, the cherry once was rather tasty
It was really great to meet you! Love the shots you, Rob and Phil took – amazing work – and I really enjoyed your write-up too. Looking forward to the next one and seeing you again.
Cracking photos and thanks for the off camera flash tuition. Can’t wait to play around a little more over the winter.
Cheap wine was a winner with many of the team but I was a fan of the alcoholic ginger beer! Looking forward to the next get together at the SWPP convention.
Lovely! This blog wasn’t linked to your page the last time i checked. Love the way your ears glow in the presentation picture
I’m bloging aswell but since it’s in the widely spoken language of Swedish I’ll keep it to myself.
Though I fancy your wedding pictures it’s great to see some other work aswell!
Take care!
