Jenni & Michael // OTD Wedding Slideshow @ Gomersall Park Hotel [by Barnaby Aldrick Wedding Photography]

Yesterday we joined Jenni & Michael to photograph their most excellent wedding at Gomersall Park Hotel near Leeds. When I peered through the blinds before I left it was chuckin it down.  I checked the BBC weather website and it said ‘sunny intervals’.  Driving to drop Clare where Mike was getting ready it was still chucking it down.  But when I pulled up at the GPH, the sky cleared and it stayed like the above for the rest of the day!  Happy days. Here’s Jen, at the window in her ‘Bride’ dressing gown, armed with a bouquet and funky net...

Dawn & Kevin // Wedding Slideshow @ Wood Hall, Wetherby – by Barnaby Aldrick

I joined these fine folks, Kevin & Dawn, for their wedding yesterday Kevin said that his ushers and he were suited and booted, tailed and top hatted, and I loved that he called that the ‘full mashings’ Here’s Dawns Dad’s hat at their house where I shot Dawn’s preps. Dawn admittedly found being photographed quite difficult, and the pre-wed didn’t help calm her anxieties in the way it does most; but I snuck about like a ninja & got some lovely pics of her preparations. Her pal Gina didn’t have the same issues! She was very happy to be wearing...

Carly & Joe // A Wedding Video! [by Barnaby Aldrick Wedding Photography]

As a wedding photographer, it makes a change to go to a wedding as a guest.  Last year Clare & I joined our good pals Rob & Nikki at their wedding, and as I’d been essentially told I couldn’t take all my toys and spend all day snapping, I decided to road-test the HD video on my Canon 5DmkII camera (which to the uninitiated shoots both stills and video). As their wedding gift, I created a short summary of their fun wedding set to music > vimeo.com/5711774 I don’t really claim to be a pro-videographer, but off the back of that...

Alice & Andrew // An awesome wedding [by Barnaby Aldrick Wedding Photography]

One of my very favourite weddings this year was the wedding of Alice & Andrew, up in Ingmanthorpe & Kirk Deighton, round North Yorkshire. No matter the size & scale of a wedding, it’s great to see a couple, relaxed and in love, in the middle of their big day, enjoying every moment. I caught up with Alice in the morning, minding her bouquet & sporting a most excellent pair of Zebra slippers. This cheeky little number was hung by a delectably 90′s photo of the kids. How much does this sister have 60s chic!?  Twiggy, much? Meanwhile, Andy got...

Lisa & Toby // OTD Wedding Slideshow @ Hazlewood Castle – by Barnaby Aldrick

Last week I joined the lovely Lisa & Toby to photograph their wedding at Hazlewood Castle, out around York/Wetherby way. I love shooting at Hazlewood, especially on a stunning sunny day like this. They were both cool in front of my lens because of our Hazlewood pre-wed the week before (see post here). Lisa spent the morning in a laid-back (& more mobile) white dress that she switched into for the evening do. Here she is taking a moment in her actual bridal gown.  Stunning eh? I don’t often go for ‘serious’ standing-pensively-in-the-window setups, but I couldn’t help myself… Funky...

Deborah & James // OTD Wedding Slideshow @ Château des Condé, Vallery – France [by Barnaby Aldrick Wedding Photography]

I shoot some cool weddings for funky couples (for example, today’s wedding flew Clare to the castle with the groomsmen in helecopter!), but one of the coolest weddings of the year for me was the wedding of Deborah & Jimmy.  If you’re a follower of this blog, you’ll remember I shot their pre-wed last week and Debs wore her mums retro wedding dress (post here).  James is half French & Debs spent ages in France, so they decided to have their wedding at a French Chateau! Logistically, it was always going to be ‘interesting’ to get us from Saturday’s Nantwich...

Jenny & Dave // OTD Wedding Slideshow @ Wrenbury Hall – by Barnaby Aldrick

Last Saturday I joined Jenny & Dave for their beautiful wedding in Nantwich, in East Cheshire. You may remember I joined them last week at St Mary’s Church in Acton for their pre-wed (one of the UKs 1000 most awesome churches) – see their pre-wed in my blog post here – and held their reception in and around the grand Wrenbury Hall. They had their fair share of bridesmaids, and the morning was full of fun at Jenny’s folks lovely house. Here’s Jen getting into her gorgeous dress. Clare was over with the gents, who were also slipping into some...

Jackie & James // OTD Wedding Slideshow @ Woodlands Hotel – by Barnaby Aldrick

Yesterday, Clare & I photographed the wedding of Jackie & James at the lovely Woodlands Hotel in Leeds. The weather was, shall we say, ‘variable’ – during Jackies preparations most seasons seemed to pass in the space of a few hours. But it was bright and clear more often than not, and especially when it counted, after the ceremony while guests mingled on the hotel veranda I was under strict instructions from the girls not to snap them till they were at least partially made up, so I busied myself with the details. I’m feeling this dress-hanging-in-the-window action.  Jackie had...

Pre-wed: Lisa & Toby @ Hazlewood Castle // Barnaby Aldrick Wedding Photography

Continuing in my pre-wed after pre-wedding theme, I yesterday joined Lisa & Toby for their practice shoot! Their venue is a fave of mine, Hazlewood Castle over on the way out to York.  It’s always a pleasure to shoot there as it’s got a load of classic weddingy spots to shoot, as well as some cheeky tall grassy fields hidden down paths, as well as masses of ancient woodland to explore if I fancy something new. Plus, the wedding co-ordinator, Amanda is a total legend and looks after us almost as well as her wedding clients! So – we kicked...

The Pre-Wed of Deborah & James // by Barnaby Aldrick Wedding Photography

I’ve been booked for and am getting hugely excited about two international weddings in France this summer. Yesterday, I joined one of those couples, Deborah & James, at their most excellent family home for their pre-wedding meeting, to talk through their day plans & to loosen them up in front of my camera before their Chateau wedding on Sunday. They are getting married at the fantastic Chateau des Condé an hours drive South of Paris. We decided to pre-wed on the day of their low-key UK wedding ceremony near Lincoln, for immediate family and elderly guests who can’t make the...
