On a heavy & bloated boxing day I was idly googling (watch out Collin’s Oxford Dictionary – new word incoming) and somehow I started reading into the latest iPhone OS update. These days I like to check if it’s worth a wasted afternoon formatting, updating & syncing back all my iPhone data only to find…

I was recently asked along to photograph another Corinne Bailey-Rae gig in Leeds (pics from the last Leeds Academy can be seen here). This gig was at Left Bank Leeds, an arts and events venue in the former St Margaret of Antioch church in the heart of Leeds’ student ghetto, Hyde Park. This church has…
Barnaby, these are fantastic pictures. I don’t remember this church at all in Hyde Park – funny how the memory slips, but what a wonderful place. Keep up the great work (I lurk frequently on your site:-)
Hi Barnaby
I would love a copy of the photo of me and my friend Amy with our flasks in the shot 7, it was literally one of the most perfect nights of my life and my friend spotted me on this photo and sent it to me. Would I be able to get a copy please?
p.s Also I am a Leeds-based actress with lots of screen experience including modelling work and I’d be up for collaborating with you in future based on your work above. Really great stuff.
Thanks

[...] The final act of the evening were Little Parades, a band I’d also photographed last year at the amazing Left Bank former derelict church last year, supporting Corinne Bailey Rae (post here) [...]

Some of you may know I host a Leeds band night on the last Sunday of every month called The Sunday Service & last Sunday was our Christmas Special. We generally try to make the Sunday Service Christmas special our fun & festive highlight of the year… Above is a shot of last years special…
Check this crazy video out. I spotted it on DSLR cimema guru Vincent Laforet’s blog: It’s Alex Roman‘s latest video project. But before I go into more detail, check this out too: That was a project made by a Graphic Designer/Art Director based in the UK BC2010. Aside from being great looking films, the amazing thing about…
You may know that this year Rob Booker & Phil Barber joined forces to create 3B Media, a lens-based media & training company. We’ve been dreaming big for the future, and are excited to announce a whole list of training workshops for amateurs & aspiring professionals. Check out our 2011 curriculum here. The wedding, portraits…
Around this time every year I like to send every past & future client a Christmas Card. This year, instead of using one of my fave snowy scenes (of which there’ve been plenty of options with this years crazy snowfall!), I decided to create custom Christmas cards at Moo.com with my fave image from each…
Yesterday I joined the lovely Kate & Matthew to photograph their wonderful wintery wedding at The Hospitium in York! Myself and my 2nd shooty wingman Pete Boyd (of PBPhoto) had an class day in perfect wintery (but not too wintery) weather. It was my last wedding of 2010 and the sun was shining, snow was…
I got a call from AsukaBook today saying that my album for the Papakata Teepee wedding of Martin & Michelle (blog post here) has been awarded their Album of The Month! This is a mockup of their BAWP 10×10″ Master Storybook on its protective black cover. Andrew Moorcroft, the Director of Everleaf, rang me up…
Congrats, looks great!
On Sunday The Wardrobe in Leeds asked me down to photograph upcoming Aussy folk duo Angus & Julia Stone playing downstairs. I’ve loved the music from these two for a long time now, and although massive in Australia, they’re only just starting to break on the UK scene In case you’re unsure why they’re called…
Hey Barnaby
Amazing pictures. I was actually at the gig and did see you.. but you were to busy to interupt! ;-0 Would you be able to shed some geeky info and share settings that you used for some of the shots!
x
Last Saturday I joined Rita & Rob to photograph their snowy wedding at Bagden Hall in Denby Dale. Instead of post the highlights video at the end of the post, I’ll get it on at the start, and if you’d like to see a few more of the images in more detail, as well as…

nohman zidane - i was wondering if you can use it to mirror your macs screen image ( does it replace the tv cabling) and if not. can you play your personal movie collection ( not quicktime compat)
thanks B
Barnaby Aldrick - I’ve not heard of it being able to desktop mirror/2nd monitor with aTV, and it only plays itunes friendly movie formats. So you have to convert AVI’s etc to MP4/M4v’s with the free transcoder Handbreak or by using apps that ‘repackage’ movie formats etc into MP4s, which is much faster than the decoding & recoding process of transcoding. So although it’s a clever system, you’ll have to live with the HDMI cable & re-encode your movie library. Boo.
