Shanshan & Chris Wedding Slideshow // Holdsworth House, Halifax [by Barnaby Aldrick Wedding Photography]

On Saturday I joined Shanshan & Chris to photograph the fun-filled English leg of their cross-cultural wedding at Holdsworth House, near Halifax. It was a wonderful day all round, and as usual while they enjoyed their delicious wedding breakfast I made a quick slideshow to show at the evening reception. Even though they’re only quickly ‘processed’ and…

Nichola & Dave’s Wedding Slideshow // Rudding Park, Harrogate [by Barnaby Aldrick Wedding Photography]

Last Friday I joined Nichola & Dave to photograph their wonderful wedding at Rudding Park, near Harrogate. It was a wonderful day all round, and as usual while they all enjoyed their delicious wedding breakfast I made a quick slideshow to show at the evening reception. Even though they’re only quickly ‘processed’ and aren’t up to the…

Chris Milner - Love the Leeds Rhino shots! How are you finding using your new primes now? I think I might be moving in the opposite direction to you, I’ve not been overly keen with my results with 50mm 1.4, I’ve always loved the punchiness of your prep shots with a bit of bounce flash thrown in

Barnaby Aldrick - Good question Chris! I’m loving the primes, but am also finding I’m already reverting back to the bounce flash preparation shots. The last wedding I posted (Shanshan & Chris), the preps were primarily bounce flashed, but using the primes. So I’m getting the best of both worlds I suppose. Everything ends up a bit murky without a flashy kick.

Great Gable & Pillar // Stomping in The Lake District [by Barnaby Aldrick Photography]

A couple of weekends back Clare & I joined her Bottle Green workmates for a 12-mile stomp, up in the Lake District The chap on the left (Steve) is a bit of a hiking nut and is trying to climb the Lakeland 100 (100 peaks of the Lake District) and every year he wrangles up staff…

Simon - Cool outing, bonus points for managing a cracking food shot after all that hiking/drinking!

Jane Barlow - Fantastic shots Barnaby, especially of the hills. The enjoyment you shared with your friends also shines through. What a lovely bunch!

Quick question. How do you put your name on your photos? I would like to do this occasionally on photos I don’t want people to use from my blog.

Keep up the great work!

Felicity Astin - Dear Barns what cracking photos…… you are truly talented and I loved reliving the walk even if I did skulk out with some otherlight weights half way through. When is the next one?

Shanshan & Chris // Pre-Wedding Shoot in Leeds City Centre [by Barnaby Aldrick Wedding Photography]

One of the most fun pre-weds I’ve shot yet this year was with Shanshan & Chris, in the drizzling rain in Leeds City Centre. They’re a fab couple (who I literally live round the corner from in West Leeds), and I’m shooting their wedding next weekend at Holdsworth House, near Halifax. However, as I tell…

Nichola & Dave // Pre-Wedding Shoot @ Rudding Park, Harrogate [by Barnaby Aldrick Wedding Photography]

A few Saturday’s back I joined Nichola & Dave for their pre-wedding practice photography at Rudding Park, outside Harrogate. It was great to catch up with them again and have a good gas about their plans and logistics over a nice coffee. Although I’ve shot there before, we got to scope out a few choice…

Ellen & Jonathan’s Wedding Slideshow // The Mansion, Leeds [by Barnaby Aldrick Wedding Photography]

Yesterday I joined Ellen & Jonathan to photograph their wedding at recently renovated Mansion in Roundhay Park, Leeds. As I grew up over the park from The Mansion, I knew it well.  As a 16 year old, I spent many a night trying to get served in the tired old-man pub inside.  After failing, we’d generally…

Clare & Rob’s Wedding Slideshow // Holdsworth House, Yorkshire [by Barnaby Aldrick Wedding Photography]

Yesterday I photographed the most excellent wedding of Clare & Rob at Holdsworth House Hotel near Halifax. They put all sorts of thought into fun things to do over the day; like the amazing letters they brought for the wedding party shot above, a whiteboard & false noses for the photobooth we did in the…

May the fourth be with you! // Happy Star Wars day from Darth Kyra [by Barnaby Aldrick Wedding Photography]

Not only is it Star Wars day today (May the fourth!), but it’s also our rescue dog Kyra‘s 1st Birthday! So it seemed a shame not to introduce Darth Kyra to the power of the dark side… For the above image I asked her to give me her best “Don’t fail me again, Admiral” expression….

Cris - Just when you think you have seen everything the internet has to offer !!! Utter Genius !!!

Jo - That is soooo funny! X

Martin - Brilliant! Thta’s first class! But it does prompt the questions ‘Is only once a year sufficient?’ and ‘Why leave it at just Star Wars characters?’

Barnaby Aldrick - That is a fine call indeed! There was a photographer called william wegman who made a career photographing his dog dressed up all funny – http://stylemetothemoon.com/arts/william-wegmans-dog/
