One sunny weekend a few weekends back I joined Carol, Jon & gang for their wedding at Goldsborough Hall in North Yorkshire.  It was such a lovely, downtempo affair on a glorious day.  Being their second marriages, they didn’t want to over egg the pudding and go over the top.  I personally think they hit the balance perfectly – a great venue for select guests, ace music (3 piece orchestra, a full jukebox and an amazing busker from Leeds centre!), fun & games for the kids and a BBQ for evening guests.

Plus, Jon’s the Managing Director of one of the UK’s leading wine importers, so excellent vino wasn’t in short supply!  Carol wasn’t convinced by the idea of having a photographer for morning preparations, but after an enjoyable pre-wed she was up for it – on the condition I didn’t take any cheesy wedding photos of shoes and that.

Here’s Carol having her make up done in the kitchen…

I loved the slightly scary gibbon strapped into the high chair!

I spotted this great storyteller of Carol’s dress hanging in baby Ollie’s room.

Over to the lovely Goldsborough Hall.  I love shooting here and you can see why – the grounds are ace.  From the house and rooms all you can see is countryside – not a single house or road.

I saw these through a chair back and couldn’t help myself… Shh.

A grandma informed me that those plastic gold rings & dove have been on 3 generations of wedding cake.  That’s kinda cool.

The jukebox was a fine call indeed…
