Last week I posted a blog of images shot one beautiful day deep in the Yorkshire Dales (post here). The reason I was up was to going a lovely upcoming wedding couple called Sophie & Rob! We were up in the Dales to have a nosey round their simply brilliant wedding venue, Bolton Castle for their wedding early 2012. It’s on the fringe of Satnav’s comfortable zone, and Jane tried to take me up various exciting tracks and across gated fields full of cows. But I finally found myself up in the pretty village adjoining Castle Bolton, not far from Leyburn....

Happy Christmas Eve all! Last weekend I was up at Bolton Castle in the heart of Wensleydale (nowhere near Bolton!) to do a pre-wed at for a wedding I’m shooting early next year.  It was an impressive building indeed, and I’m gonna be doing a separate post about the stunning 14th Century medieval castle and pre-wed shoot with Sophie & Rob in a few days, but it’s positioned in such a beautiful part of the Dales that I thought I’d do a post of images I blazed while in the area!The sun was beginning to peep out on my way through Wensleydale...

Sarah & Henry // Pre-Wedding Photography – Norwood Park, Southwell [by Barnaby Aldrick Photography]

A few weeks back I met Sarah & Henry for their pre-wedding shoot in Nottinghamshire in advance of their wedding at the end of December Their venue is the beautiful Norwood Park, at which I photographed one of my very first weddings! It’s in the ‘Historic Minster Town’ of Southwell, which to anyone from there is pronounced “Suth-ell”After talking through logistics, groupshots & plans we got involved with the practice portrait shoot around the grounds.I was inspired for this one by an image from Sarah Beanie’s show with her an her partner stood outside their mansion. Lucy & Stewart // Pre-Wedding Photography – Swinton Park, Masham [by Barnaby Aldrick Photography]

Last weekend I joined these fine folk, Lucy & Stewart, for their pre-wedding meeting & practice photoshoot! I was particularly excited about this one as it was at Swinton Park, near Masham in the Yorkshire Dales. I’ve never photographed here before and it’s a grand old place indeed! The crisp winter afternoon and last few leaves clinging to the trees made everything start to feel a bit ‘bonfire nighty’ Convenient really, because these two are actually getting married on November 5th! Last week I joined Helen & Joby for their pre-wedding meeting & practice photoshoot at the Corn Exchange in Leeds.The Corn Exchange is one of Leeds’ grandest buildings Built in 1863 by Cuthbert Brodrick (the same architect who built Leeds Town Hall) it was designed to be flooded with natural light, so corn traders could accurately gauge and sell corn This is good for me, cos whatever the weather, we’re gonna have this amazing space to snap in, whatever the weather outside! A little while back I joined these beauties at Middleton Lodge, up in the rolling countryside around Richmond, near Scotch Corner! The lovely couple are Rachael & Chris, and I’m soon to be snapping their big day at…… the charming Middleton Lodge in deepest North Yorkshire! In recent years Middleton lodge has become one of the country’s most unique settings for a wedding.  One of the coolest things about it is they essentially each couples have exclusive usage over 2 nights and 3 days, and treat the home as their own country mansion for the duration of their stay!  ...

Last Friday I met Emma & Ryan for their pre-wedding practice shoot at Bolton Abbey in the Yorkshire Dales. I’ve been up & down t’country of late chasing couples around with my glass! Back in London for the 2nd time in 2 weeks, I met super lovely upcoming wedding victims Jane & Jonathan! Diving on a train from sunny Leeds, sans jacket, foolishly presuming it was summer everywhere (as a wedding photographer; I should know better), I was greeted in the capital by a comedically biblical storm!  The kind of fat rain bubba talks about in Forest Gump.  And I ran through it to meet Jane at their amazing church in Marylebone… St. Mary’s Church is an impressively imposing building...

Introducing the lovely Sally & Andrew! When Barny met Sally (tenuous) I was travelling in South America back in 2007.  We spent a week or so exploring the Chilean Patagonian Fjords aboard the ‘Navimag‘.  It was less of a ‘cruise’ and more a week aboard a cargo ship, bunking with a bunch of backpackers seeking an alternative way get between the the arse end of Chile & the stunning Torres del Paine National park.  Occasionally we’d sidle up to 6km long Glaciers and dramatic fjordian beauty, but mainly we split our time being hugely seasick (& I rarely get seasick!)...

Earlier this week I joined these fine lookers for their pre-wedding shoot around their wedding venue The Mansion in Roundhay Park, Leeds. Lucy, Rowan & I go way back. We all went to school together and Lucy Lastic & I’ve been pals since we were teenagers, so it was fab to be asked along to document the fun! To loosen themselves into the shoot, they cracked a bottle of vintage Rose Moet that Rowan gave to Lucy for her last birthday! Good thinkin’ there chicos! I was given one instruction by Lucy; no ‘bush nut’!  Ie. avoid making her massive look massive!...
