Sarah & Henry’s Wedding Slideshow // Norwood Park, Southwell [by Barnaby Aldrick Wedding Photography]

Norwood Park Wedding Photography 047

A very Happy New Year to you all!  I hope your evenings were all they could be, and hope 2012 brings promise & fun for all of you! On Friday, I joined Sarah & Henry to photograph their wedding at Norwood Park in Southwell, in Nottinghamshire. Norwood Park’s such an ace place for wedding photography.  It was one of the early venues I shot in my wedding photography career, for my (now) good friends John & Helen. Last time I was there it was a glorious summer’s day, and this time it was one of those winter days that just drizzled pretty much...

Slow-motion bonfire night fireworks // 240fps on the Canon 1000HS [By Barnaby Aldrick]

Screen Shot 2011-12-04 at 22.47.10

On bonfire night at the start of November, the family & girlfriends headed over to Roundhay Park bonfire to catch the firework display. I took over my trusty, battered Canon 1000HS and thought I’d try out the Super Slow Mo feature.  So I shot a selection of fireworks going off at 240 frames per second and have chopped it together in Final Cut Pro to the beautiful song ‘Daydreams’ by Abel Korzeniowski from the ‘A Single Man’ film soundtrack (yours for 69p from Amazon MP3 store here!) While the Canon 1000HS can record crispy full HD video, the resolution it outputs slow...

Turkey // The magnificent ruins of Ephesus [by Barnaby Aldrick Photography]

Turkey-Ephesus-001

Last week I posted a few images from our summer break to Turkey (post here).  I thought I’d also do a separate post of images shot on our visit to the ruins of Ephesus. Ephesus was once an ancient Greek city and later a major Roman city, on the west coast of Roman ‘Asia Minor’.  Most famous for housing the Temple of Artemis, one of the seven wonders of the Ancient World, but that sadly is no longer visible.  But its still easy to see what a formidable place it was in it’s heyday; home to more than 500,000 people, making...

Dine Services // Leeds International Film Festival Event [by Barnaby Aldrick Photography]

Dine-Leeds-Film-Festival-009

Last week was the launch of the 25th Leeds International Film Festival It was being hosted at the Town Hall in Leeds & they’d created a massive banner to cover the front of the building. It’s always nice to see inside Leeds Town Hall.  It’s a grand ol’ place. I sung in the Leeds Town Hall choir once upon a time. The opening gala was a showing of ‘Wuthering Heights’ directed by Andrea Arnold in the grand hall. The reason I was there was because I was asked along by Dine Catering Services, who were doing a VIP party for special...

Lucy & Stewart’s Wedding Slideshow // Swinton Park, North Yorkshire [by Barnaby Aldrick Wedding Photography]

L&S-Swinton-Park-Wedding-Photography-©-Barnaby-Aldrick-046

Yesterday I joined Lucy & Stewart to photograph their bonfire night wedding! It was at Swinton Park up in North Yorkshire and was a fab place to shoot a late Autumn wedding.  When we arrived it was drizzling, but it was great that the rain held off from the ceremony onwards! As usual, while everyone enjoyed their wedding breakfast we backed up pictures and made a quick slideshow to show at the evening reception. Even though they’re only quickly ‘processed’ and aren’t up to the scratch of the final images, after the wedding I like to set the slideshow to their...

East Riddlesdon Hall // Wedding Fair – Sunday 6th November 2011 [by Barnaby Aldrick]

Last summer I shot the wedding of Emma & Matt at the lovely East Riddlesdon Hall near Keighley. Their big day was a great laugh, shooting in & around this amazing National Trust building. Check out the on-the-day hightlights slideshow (made at & shown at their wedding reception) below: [You can also click here to see the slideshow in HD on the Vimeo website] After their big day I was approached by the National Trust to become a recommended supplier there! It was quite an honour really, as the National Trust are quite selective about who they allow to photograph...

Happy Halloween folks // Dog costumes all round! [by Barnaby Aldrick Photography]

Last Saturday, Clare & I went to a pals Halloween fancy dress party, and I thought I thought it’d be rude not to share a few pics of our outfits! And before you ask, no I’m not a panda… We were toying with taking our pooch Kyra to the party too in her Darth Vader outfit, but taxi’s are a bit fussy with the ol’ transportation of pets… So Darth Kyra stayed in and plotted how to crush the rebellion. Have a Happy Halloween folks! B

Helen & Joby’s Wedding Highlights // Anthony’s Piazza, Leeds [by Barnaby Aldrick Wedding Photography]

Yesterday I joined Helen & Joby to photograph their wedding at St Chad’s Church, in Headingley and at Anthony’s Piazza in The Corn Exchange! It was a cracking day all round, bursting with cool details and fun ideas (as well as possibly the best bouquet I’ve seen this year!). While guests enjoyed Anthony’s Yorkshire Tapas & carve-your-own sirloins, we backed up pictures and made a quick slideshow to show at the evening reception. Even though they’re only quickly ‘processed’ and aren’t up to the scratch of the final images, after the wedding I like to set the slideshow to their first dance...

Sally & Andrew’s Wedding Highlights // ICA, Central London [by Barnaby Aldrick Wedding Photography]

SA-ICA-London-Wedding-Photography-Barnaby-Aldrick-067

Yesterday we joined Sally & Andrew to photograph their toasty wedding in Central London! It was ace to be back down in the big smoke again; bustling with it’s black cabs, red buses & grand white buildings Before I left Leeds, I read 32.5 degrees on the dash!  Saturday turned out to be that, plus the usual London heat Island bump.  Most couples hold their breath for a sunny wedding day, but entertainingly Sally said they’d booked an October wedding because she didn’t like hot weather and fancied a spot of cool Autumnal breezing. However, the late Indian Summer heat wave...

Wedding Albums // Queensberry Duo [by Barnaby Aldrick Wedding Photography]

Queensberry Album [Full-Res] 024

The album’s I generally offer my clients are AsukaBook photobooks.  I’ve often thought of my photographic style as being that of a visual storyteller, and my album choice and style has evolved as a consequence of that.  The storybooks I offer generally have 80 pages, leaving ample space to really chapter & tell the tale of a wedding. I don’t offer many album options – usually just a perfectly formed, fantastically-crafted 10×10″ Master Storybook with either gloss or matt laminated pages.  I also offer a 12×12″ upgrade with the option to have the binding ‘lay flat’ instead of book-style crease down...
