A picture may not always speak 1000 words, but this next one certainly sets the scene…

I was asked down to London to photograph the wedding of my dear pal Mark Nunn & his good lady, Clare. I met Markwah & his sis in Bangladesh, of all places, and we’ve got on ever since.  He’s a man of many talents, a wordsmith & muso and has the eye, but often not the time, for photography, so I was honoured to get involved on their big day on October 30th this year.  I popped down to London a while back to get to know Clare a bit better at their pre-wed (picture post here).  Here are a few of my fave storytellers of the day, kicking off at the infamous Jackson Rd ‘Nunnery’, which as long as I’ve known it has been like an international hostel for musos and mentals.

We stopped their the night before and found ourselves scraping and carving pumpkins for the Halloween themed reception till the early hours

All keen runners, Mark, Dad & Mary decided it was a good idea to go for a turn round London.

I left Clare with Mark & his best man (& best friend) Wabs to go for an Iranian breakfast.  Only in London.

I bussed over to Mark & Clare’s place, hoping I’d remembered the directions…

Meanwhile, back over at the nunnery, “Yeah, so I’ve turned it on. Now what?”

Fun friends.

And fun folks too.  The bedroom became an impromptu dance floor.

Time was tickin on and we headed over to the church for the 3pm ceremony in Holloway in none other than a hackney carriage.

This was my first wedding this year after the clocks changed and I wasn’t entirely ready for quite how dark it was at 4.15!

Hence the groupshots being done in the church.  But off Clare & Mark shot to their reception at the Amadeus Centre in the Little Venice area of London and we followed in vintage red London buses.

I caught best man Wabs on the top deck writing his speech.  Nothing like preparation.

In the beautifully dressed downstairs hall there was fun, frolics & tunes from Jo et al.

Having missed the daylight, we shot a few cheeky shots of our lovely couple before dinner.

The main hall was dressed amazingly, full of pumpkins & an African-style sharing platters.  It was all very cool & casual sans table plans etc.

Paul & Mark’s excellent speeches.  Not a single speaker was lacking in wit or eloquent delivery this night.

Wabs had a few tales to tell.

I believe their first dance was the excellent ‘Aicha’ by Outlandish

Which half way through was invaded by zombies and overtaken by ‘Thriller’.  These are my kinda peeps.

It really was fantastic being involved in Mark & Clare’s wedding.  What a fantastic couple they are.

I’m not totally jealous that they’re currently in South America, taking in Argentina’s waterfalls, with a rare bife de chorizo & Malbec, honest.
