Yesterday I joined Nina & Paul to photograph their wedding at Shustoke Farm Barns in Coleshill, Warwickshire!

It was a such a brilliant day all round!  Not only did the gloomy forecast hold off, but everything about the day was relaxed and fun. A cheeky, silly couple who were clearly in love and really enjoying their day, a mad wedding party, game guests and a fab venue in which to host a wedding.  You can see in the slideshow what fun it was and it was a pleasure to be in the thick of things!

I hope you enjoy the story of their wedding day!

All wedding preps were done at opposite ends of Coleshill in North Warwickshire, and after dropping Hamish with the dudes, I headed to the girls at Springfield Guesthouse

The bridal party were having plenty fun on the bucks fizz.

Love this frame of Nina and her lovely grandma

Beautiful wedding gown by Justin Alexander

Like any thinking bride, Nina had 4 pairs of shoe options! Narrowed down to a comfy pair and a pair her mum had worn to her own wedding 35 years previous!

A lovely ‘something borrowed’!

The impressive wild flowers were by Blooms and Bees in Worcestershire

Meanwhile, Hamish joined Paul and the chaps while they enjoyed a spot of their own fizz on the other side of Coleshill

Whoop! Dress on!

Love this little cuddle I caught through the doorway

And this was a sweet moment too: where the girls were helping Nina into her mum’s wedding shoes, and it overwhelmed mum a bit, dusting off a 35 year old memory!

The morning was full of tender moments actually!

These girls were absolutely class.

I like also that because they were so far from Aus, they’d been told just to buy a mint green dress of their choice.

Paul and the guys had headed over to Shustoke Farm Barns to check everything was shipshape.

Now Nina & Paul used to live together in Leeds, and we’ve some mutual pals, but they have since emigrated over to live in Perth, Australia!  They’d done an amazing job finding this venue before it was even complete – Shustoke Barn is still only really in it’s first wedding season! – and with some top parental assistance, have arranged everything from literally as far away as you can get without really leaving the planet!

I’d joined them last week on a drive to Coleshill to check the place out, as they’ve only just landed from Aus, and it was ace to have a good nosey around the venue to scout a few portrait spots.  You can see the equally fun practice shoot here.

It’s been a fabulous renovation of these old traditional 18th century brick Threshing Barns, only 20 minutes from the centres of Birmingham and Coventry

This little signature board was a nice touch!

The courtyard has four giant old olive trees.

Guests assembled and the weather held off…

Here comes the bride!

Love this romantic little post kiss-the-bride cuddle!

You should have seen the forecast.  All week and on the day, black cloud big rain drop prediction!

Just goes to show; don’t trust those 5 day forecasts kids…

Aww! More tears. I can’t help but pounce on the emotionally vulnerable!   😉

I do enjoy a bit of fun with the wedding party after we’ve powered through the family shots.

It just goes to show, all you really need for a good bridal party shot is an olive tree and 6 mentalists.

Top photobombing, that man!

Then I took Nina & Paul for a quick lap of the courtyard for some quiet portraits.

I wish all couples were as easy to photograph as these two!  They were always up for a laugh.

Aww!

And then it was back to the reception to mingle with guests!

It was fab to see mutual pals (and former wedding victims of mine) Josh & Laura again, who’ve since moved down to the big smoke!

Their wedding at Taitlands in Settle was top fun too.

Before heading into eat, we did a quick shot of all the pals!

The main hall had been turned around beautifully for the wedding meal

I love that the well-travelled Nina & Paul had Argentinian ‘Chimichurri’ sauce made specially for the charcuterie nibbles! Nom nom nom.

We were only covering proceedings at this wedding until the meal, which included the brilliant pre-meal Father of the Bride speech!

And so, on the final toast, we bid our farewells!

See! Amazing wedding eh?!  Loads of fun, nice and relaxed and in a wonderful place to catch up with near and dear from near and far.

Thank you Nina & Paul for asking us along to join you! It was a brilliant laugh and absolute pleasure to hang with you guys.  Here’s wishing you both a very happy life together and a lovely honeymoon in Sri Lanka on route back to Aus!

x
