On Friday I joined Emma & Ryan to photograph their ace wedding!

After a church service at Holy Trinity Church in Idle, they hosted their wedding reception at Woodlands Hotel in Leeds.

It’s an an ace place to photograph a wedding, especially when the weather is warm & sunny, and guests mingle on the veranda at the back!

I hope you enjoy my story of their lovely day!

I joined Emma, her family & her 9 bridesmaids (!)  at her parents recently refurbished, essentially palatial home in Idle.

I liked this one of the little flower girl watching the gang getting ready downstairs. The girls were enjoying a bit of McDonalds breakfast action…while Emma received some cuddly gifts from her mum.
Their flora looked wicked.  I loved tassly (official term?) rushy handles of the bridesmaid bouquets…and the bridal bouquet looked even better, binding lillies & white roses! While everyone shuffled about I caught a few of the special details, including beautiful dress…

and got a bit creative on the shoe shot!

Emma’s brothers were getting themselves sorted in the new kitchen.

Here’s Emma being laced into her gown by mum, as a proud dad looks on.

a quick shot with the brothers, out on the decking, before they rolled off in the stretch hummer to join the groom & his men

Look at this beautiful lineup of the bride & her maids, in their specially made dresses!

Gorgeous colour scheming

Meanwhile, our groom, Ryan fixed himself up

and had a moment with his brothersAround went a few bubbles with mum & dad, while Ryan’s hairdresser brothers fixed their hair!

Apparently this is the longest hummer in the UK!  It was H U G E and probably not that fun to park!

I love this shot.  It’s all about getting a bride & her McMuffin shot!Mobilising to head to the ceremony…A few final tweaks…

and a snap with dad! Before diving into the Beauford Limo!
Anyone else think this church looks like a rocket? Here comes the bride!  Towards a nervous looking groom!Clare found a cool spot up in the rafters for a shot as Emma & Ryan walking down the aisle as man & wifeThis is the one I got.  Which do you prefer?  I like both.

After some congratulatory well wishing, we did a quick shot of everyone

and bombed our couple with confetti

A quick snog at the gates

And off we headed over to Woodlands Hotel for the sunny afternoon reception on the terrace. As guests arrived we did a quick portrait shoot around the grounds.  We’d done a great practice shoot at Bolton Abbey the week before to get them used to being in front of the lens.  They were fab together.  Check out their ‘pre-wedding’ pics here.

Probably my fave pic of them as a couple.
And I loved this one of Emma’s veil blowing in the wind. After a bit of mingling, we rattled through the groups and got on with a few wedding party picsThe ladies!

And the dudes! Then we went into the wedding breakfast in the Woodlands marquee…

with some cracking speeches before dinner.

After dinner while the evening reception was set up, we ran our ‘photobooth’ for guests to mess about in front of our red curtain! To kick off evening proceedings we cut the cake…

and the DJ got everyone in a tunnel, to welcome them onto the dancefloor

for their first dance to a bit of Celine Dion!

Their friends and family dived in towards the end…

and so the party started as we left them to enjoy the evening!
Awww

It was a fantastic day all round & we wish Emma & Ryan all the very best together!  Thank you & your guests for making us feel so welcome on your special day.

Here’s to a wicked honeymoon in Dubai!
