Yesterday, Clare & I photographed the wedding of Jackie & James at the lovely Woodlands Hotel in Leeds.
The weather was, shall we say, ‘variable’ – during Jackies preparations most seasons seemed to pass in the space of a few hours.
But it was bright and clear more often than not, and especially when it counted, after the ceremony while guests mingled on the hotel veranda

I was under strict instructions from the girls not to snap them till they were at least partially made up, so I busied myself with the details.
I’m feeling this dress-hanging-in-the-window action. Jackie had a bit of a mission getting this badboy, as it was no longer in production and she had to fly it over from Portugal!

Partially made up time! Jackies friend Sharon did her makeup and did a wicked job on her eyes.

Clare was over with James & the chaps, and their totally AWESOME grannies. They reminded me of my nana.

Here comes the bride!

Mr & Mrs!

The everyone shot.

The rings! I was particularly pleased with this one, with it’s graphic lines coming from a black piano top, it’s hinge & the wall behind.

They had a New York theme, and had this fab cake specially made!

If you
saw Jackie & James’s pre-wed (post here), you’ll remember we did it late in the evening and caught some lovely golden evening light.
I popped my head out the marquee to see what was a’gwan and guess what I saw again!

So we had another skip about in the last rays!

I’m also pleased with this one, as I tagged up with the DJ and asked if he could ask guests to surround the dancefloor to line the shot.
While Jackie & James’ guests tucked into their dinner we backed up the day’s images to my laptop and made a quick slideshow to show at the evening reception. Generally these slideshows are around 80>100 images long and just run on the laptop on a table somewhere. They’re a great way for not only the bride & groom to get a taster of things to come, and also for guests to see what happened during the morning and ceremony.
Even though they’re only a taster of quickly ‘processed’ images from the day, and generally aren’t up to the scratch of the final images, I’ve taken to setting the pix to their first dance song to let the couple and their pals see the images literally a few days after the wedding. So here’s their On-The-Day Slideshow set to ‘I don’t want to miss a thing’ by Aerosmith (which can be downloaded from Amazon here).
If you can’t see the slideshow, are viewing this in facebook or would like to see it in HD, click here to watch it on Vimeo.com
Cheers to both Jackie & James – It was most excellent joining them & their near and dear in celebrating their Woodlands wedding. I’ll get their images to them soon, and we’ll host a client area for guests to see their finished images, but in the meantime I hope they enjoy their honeymoon in the the Dominican Republic!
