A few weekends back I joined the lovely Jenni & Simon for their practice shoot at the newly refurbished Mansion in Roundhay Park, Leeds

I grew up over the park from The Mansion, and knew it well.  As an underage but 17 year old, I spent many a night trying to get served in the old-man pub inside.  In recent years it’s been closed for redevelopment, recently reopening it’s doors as a fresh and funky venue in the hands of Dine Catering (who I did some Leeds Guide photography for a while back in this post here)

It’s an imposing building overlooking the enormous Roundhay Park.

I shot Ellen & Jonathan’s wedding there a few weeks back (check the post here)

After talking through their plans over coffee, we dived into the practice shoot.

It’s really been done out nicely, and there are plenty of indoor spots to do photography in the case that the weather’s not behaving outside.

This stairwell is particularly cool!

And I like this angle of it too.

Outside, we had a little cuddle on the steps…

And a dance around the pillars

We also wandered down to one of the old Victorian bandstands for a cheeky snog

There are loads of spots for nice pics around the park

It was great to hook up with them both to settle the nerves about being snapped!

Their day sounds like it’s gonna be great and I’m really looking forward to joining them in June…
