Last week I joined Sally & Jamie for their pre-wedding practice shoot around Leeds Town Hall in the Civic quarter of Leeds city centre.

After catching up over a coffee, we took to a chilly evening amble around this grand old part of the city

And I put these two through a practice portrait shoot, to get them used to how it feels to be photographed!

It’s generally quite a weird experience, but helps us all get to know one another ahead of the big day, which is rolling around fast…

They’re getting married on Saturday!

They’re not actually getting married in Leeds.  Their venue is the lovely Middleton Lodge up near Richmond in North Yorkshire.  I love shooting up there.

I like to show my couples that it’s all about relaxing together and having a bit of fun, than majorly staged, contrived posing.

After rocking the town hall, we headed round the corner in the direction of Milennium Square…

…past the Mandela Gardens, which had tributes out to the great man, who’d sadly just passed…

…and decided it’d be nice to hit Leeds’ German Market!

There’s nothing better to do on a cold day than warm up with a cheeky Glühwein!

I hope it was a useful experience for these guys! It was really lovely to meet them both and spend a bit of time hanging out together.

Stay tuned on the blog for their wedding highlights post after the weekend!
