March's favourite Leeds Guide images

Just thought I’d post a few images from another interesting couple of day’s shooting for the Leeds Guide.  I’m really pleased with the food shot above at the tasty Bar 166 in Horsforth, lit with window light and a portable reflector.  I’ve done some work with them before and they’re an excellent eatery my girlfriend often frequents, as she works over in Horsforth.

When I did the my favourite outfit feature with a dude I’ve lived opposite in Leeds City Centre for years.  We finally got to exchange more than a ‘Hi’ and he’s a sorted bloke.  He works at Joy down on Clarence Dock and I thought we’d try and get the familiar Clarence Dock building’s in behind him and light him with a bit of off camera flash.

I quite liked the bartenders choice cocktail this issue, a pokey little number mixed with pure booze and random ingredients.  After a good cough it actually had a rather pleasant aftertaste.

This feature we ran a fashion feature on Leeds Best Dressed and I had a great time photographing models and designers in fancy frocks & outfits.  This one was a Dawn Stretton number, modelled by the lovely Ruth Summerskill…

These dudes were wearing t-shirts & jumpers by ‘Flying With The Fishes‘.  Shot at a skate park in Headingley. I like all the action going on in this one.

And my favourite of the day was of the Leeds fashion designer Julia D’Albert-Pusey shot down in the ancient Granary Wharf area of Leeds.  Again, this picture was brought to life with a bit of off camera flash and a little luck.  This shot made the cover of the magazine.
