Last Saturday I joined Kate & Phil to photograph their winter wedding over in Harmston, in a frosty Lincolnshire, before heading over to Nottinghamshire for their wedding reception at Norwood Park, in Southwell.
It was a stunning, wintery drive over to Harmston in Lincolnshire, where I joined the girls for their preparations…
You can’t hope for much more than this forecast at a winter wedding! If it’s not a moon it’s a full sun! Happy days.
The morning was a relaxing affair, with plenty of laughter flowing around Kate’s parents beautiful contemporary cottage.
The gorgeous Pronovius gown, ready to play out!
While the church flowers were supplied by their family friend Mandy Taylor, the wintery bouquets and wedding party flora were designed by Rachel Petheram
Meanwhile, Hamish joined the dudes to photograph their morning at the neighbouring village of Coleby (best kept village 2011 apparently!)
The chaps were given their very own commemorative inscribed tankards…
…so it seemed only right to hit the pub downstairs and for Phil to pull them a real ale!
Kate sent over a lovely Armani watch as a wedding gift for Phil!
The chaps took a quick stroll for a few relaxed teamshots before heading to the church…
Meanwhile, literally over the road from the church, it was time for the girls to gown up…
I like little moments like these…
Aww! Cracking genuine reaction from Dad on seeing his daughter in her wedding dress!
A quick teamshot round the giant Christmas tree…
And a beautiful portrait of an excited Kate
We (literally) hit the road to walk over to the church!
This natural moment is one of my favourite images of the day.
Lots of interesting elements, but mainly I like how it captures the jangly nerves of a bride checking she’s ready before heading down the aisle!
One of their cousins played a few songs on the flute during the signing of the registers.
Then it was time to head back down the aisle as man and wife!
A quick shot of everyone…
And a good few blasts of confetti!
Then it was off to Norwood Park for the afternoon’s fun…
It was great to be back here.
I’ve been a few times before and it’s one of the great houses of the county of Nottinghamshire, set in over 100 acres of parkland, overlooking a lake and apple orchards.
These two do make a lovely pair. Very comfortable together and lovely to photogaph
Then it was time to enjoy the company of their guests, around blazing log fires, and with sun streaming in through the window.
It doesn’t get much better at a winter wedding!
The Turnaround Trio supplied ace background Jazz to the drinks reception.
Then we whistled through a group of teamshots…
Always nice to have a bit of fun with the wedding party groups!
Meanwhile, over in another wing of the grounds, the wedding breakfast meal was all set like a white, winter wonderland…
As a nice surprise to our happy couple, Kate’s Dad had orchestrated near and dear to dust off their old brass to reinact the ‘All You Need Is Love’ song from Love Actually!
We’d all been warned that the Father Of The Bride speech would be inappropriate!
😉
After the meal, the light had almost gone from the sky, so I quickly grabbed Kate & Phil for a few last portraits…
Then during the evening reception, we set up out fun photobooth for a bit of evening craic!
Always entertaining!
Then before cutting cakes and first dancing, we had a bit of fun down a sparkler tunnel!
Then it was time for the first dance shuffle!
Before the excellent function band, The Livewires, rocked away the evening.
A lovely winter wedding all round! Here’s wishing Kate & Phil a very happy marriage indeed and an amazing New Years honeymoon in Dubai & the Maldives!
Congrats kids and all the very best,
Barnaby & Hamish
