On Saturday I joined Megan & Ed to photograph their wonderful wedding at The Priory Cottages in Syningthwaite, near Wetherby in Yorkshire!

It was a magical day of fun and surprise, and above is a video of their wedding highlights, from their ceremony at St Peter’s Church in Walton and reception at The Priory!

I hope you enjoy the photos from this beautiful day as much as we did shooting them!

It couldn’t have been a more beautiful late summer morning to join Megan & Ed for their preparations at The stunning Priory Cottages…

Inside the girls cottage it was a hive of activity!

Megan was one excited bride!

Megan’s beautiful gown was by Forget-me-not Designs from Agape Bridal, in Altrincham

The magnificent flora across the day were created by the lovely Wendy at Paperwhite Flowers.

I learned that the magenta David Austin Rose was called the ‘Kate’ Rose in honour of Kate Middleton! As they say, every day’s a school day…

Meanwhile, my wingman for the day, the brilliant Cris Matthews, was over with the gents following their morning of fun…

Ed and his boys always were going to look super dapper

For the quick drive between the cottages and Walton Church/pub, they’d dressed up Megs convertible BMW with some (not entirely road legal!) special plates!

A quick sharpener before the ceremony, down the road…

Love this shot of the guys

Meanwhile, back at the girls, the bridesmaides were already looking beautiful and were ready to help Meg into her gown…

I love all the elements going on in this pic!  It’s almost got a painterly composition.

I do love it when a dad has a great reaction to seeing his beautiful daughter all dressed up for her big day!

These kind of opposite reaction shots are exactly why it’s ace to have a 2nd shooter watching the opposite angles of moments like this!

Job

DONE!

Afterwards it was nice to do a confetti runway down to the car!

Nothing like a quick drink drive before tearing off with illegal plates!

😉

When we got back to Priory Cottages we got straight into the portraits while guests arrived…

This is my fave shot of the day!

The classic BAWP kneel!

Then we took a little stroll down the path

Then it was back to the reception for mingles, fizz and canapés

Always nice to get a full teamshot, even with this many guests!

Go team!

The flowers across the day were pretty special!

And the wedding breakfast room looked amazing!

Not only was there an actual wedding cake and a sweet table, but a cake of cheese and PORK PIES!

OMG

Before the meal, there was a quick stand up / sit down quiz to see who knew the happy couple best…

Then half way through the meal, the big wedding surprise kicked off…

Singing waiters!

A secret group of actor/singers, who pretend to be a catering manager, a chef & a waiter and put on a little act before bursting into song!

The room went OFF!

Meg finally got that Mr Frosty she wanted for HER ENTIRE LIFE!

I noticed during the meal that the skies looked cool, so we slipped out for another quick round of portraits!

Always nice to get a set like this.

Then, before cake and first dancing, the sparklers that were given out with the meal were fired up for a bit of chaotic fun outside!

Then it was time to kick off the evening’s music!

Whoop!

Great to be involved in such a fab, fun-filled wedding! Congratulations Meg & Ed and here’s hoping you have a fab honeymoon in the Maldives!
