Yesterday I joined Leah & Richard to photograph arguably the sunniest wedding I’ve shot this year, at Skipton Castle & The Craven Heifer in Kelbrook!

I hope you enjoy our the story of this special day!

I joined the girls at the Craven Heifer for the bridal preps, where a beautiful vintage bus was ready & waiting.

I adore dresses by Ian Stewart.  They’re so distinctive, classy, and a bit funky.

A special family ring was worn on the day in honour of those no longer with them.

One beautiful bride, ready to roll!

Loving the flora & dress combinations!

Meanwhile, Clare joined Rich and the lads for their preps at their beautiful farmhouse up in Trawden.

The chaps then headed to the Craven Heifer to collect wedding party people

Then it was off to sunny Skipton!

Rich, Dad and the best man snuck off for a cheeky pint o’Dutch at the Black Horse, before heading to the castle

While I’ve memories of going to Skipton Castle on school trips like 10 times (and have the badges and pencils to prove it!), I’ve not photographed a wedding here before, so it was quite exciting to shoot in this brilliant medieval building, dating all the way back to 1090!

It’s not a proper wedding if you’ve not got a picture of bridesmaids sat on a canon.

Chatting with its driver, this Rolls Royce Phantom sported a 6.75L V12 engine!  Lordy.

What a brilliant setting for a wedding eh?  Loving this doorway shot Clare caught as Leah & Dad came through.

There were a few nerves from both ends of the aisle!

Back down the aisle as man & wife!

(I realised afterwards I’d missed a perfect opportunity to give the groom a set of antlers here!)

The old Conduit Courtyard was a lovely spot to enjoy canapes and fizz, around an ancient yew tree, planted by  Lady Anne Clifford back in the 1600’s!

After a few informal family groups, I took the wedding party out for a few fun teamshots…

Good air from the bride!

I’d met Leah & Rich at Skipton Castle a few weeks back for their pre-wedding practice shoot and we’d had a great time and caught some lovely pics (check out the blog here).

Then it was back on the bus back to the Craven Heifer…

…while the newlyweds cracked a bottle open and took a spin in’t roller!

A marquee had been set up in the field above the Craven Heifer

It looked brilliant inside, with a full on tree on the top table!

It’s so nice to get summer weather like this!  Everyone’s just up for chilling outside with a pimms…

…and putting cones on their heads and running about.

Speeches were great…

…which were moving when Rich mentioned his mum, who’d sadly passed away; so sis stepped in for a bit of moral support.

As evening set in, we took a little turn in the soft evening sun

During the evening we ran our fun photobooth for guests to mess about on!

First dance was to Dirty Dancing’s ‘(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life’!

Then, as the sun set, we left the gang to enjoy the party!

Thank you “Mr & Mrs Eddie” for asking us along to join in your celebrations and here’s hoping you have a wonderful life together and a fab honeyoon!

Party on kids,

Barnaby & Clare x
