The Priory Cottages Wetherby,Yorkshire Wedding Photography,

Yesterday I joined Sarah & Ed to photograph their wedding at All Saints’ Church in Kirk Deighton and their reception at The Priory Cottages in Wetherby!

I joined the girls for their preps at the Priory. I love shooting weddings here. It’s smart, contemporary and relaxed and almost always makes for a fun venue.

While the girls were getting their warpaint on, I did the brave thing and took the dress (from the Bridal House in Leeds) outside for a walk!

I don’t usually do this, but love this archway on the front of the former Cistercian convent of St Mary, which dates all the way back to 1160AD.

The morning was a nice relaxing affair

Ed had sent over a very sweet card & a stunning TAG Heuer watch as a wedding gift

The groom Ed is a keen fisherman and had been out in the morning and caught a big ol’Pike!

Not sure there’s a better start to a wedding day for a man who loves to fish!

Sarah’s father used to be a jeweller, so you can see the focus on sparkles in the wedding rings!

Once dressed for the party, the chaps headed into the grounds of a nearby country house where Ed likes to fish, and were given a some wedding gifts…

…which were filled with Jura Superstition – one of my favourite scotches!

Meanwhile, back at the Priory, it was time for Sarah to gown up…

Unfortunately, the vicar at All Saints is a bit strict and will only allow photography from the very back of the church, in spite of us being able to work silently and unobtrusively from a front corner. Never fun, when there’s so much that can be caught of the wedding story from the front, without it being ‘distracting’ to anyone. But there we are. Rant over!

Another little moment I love.

Confetti bomb at the gates!

The Priory Cottages Wetherby,Yorkshire Wedding Photography,

Always nice having two shooters on hand for this bit, as it’s over in an instant!

Back at Priory Cottages we got cracking on the portrait shoot

I far prefer relaxed moments like these to staged smiles and forces poses!

Then it was back to the party to enjoy the company of their near and dear

It was great to see Helen & Guy again, who’s wedding I also photographed at Priory Cottages back in Summer 2012!

Always nice to catch up with them, and hear they’ve since had a lovely little daughter.

These guys, Trio Divo did a cracking job performing contemporary tunes in a classical style for at the church and for two sets at the wedding reception!

Then it was time to crack on through the family lineups, which I try to keep light and entertaining, but quick and painless.

The marquee was dressed beautifully for the wedding breakfast, with tables named after cuts of diamonds, in honour of Sarah’s dad.

Evening receptions are generally a great time to get a more informal set of pal groups.

Well, it was lovely to join Ed and Sarah to capture their wedding story and enjoy the company of their near and dear.

Here’s wishing you both a fab life together as man & wife!
