Village Garden Marquee Wedding Photography in Helhoughton, Norfolk!

Last weekend I joined Adam + Alice to photograph their beautiful wedding around Alice’s family village of Helhoughton in deepest Norfolk!

Adam is an old pal of mine from our studenty days when we waited tables at TGI Friday’s in Leeds! It always makes it even more special to document a buddy get wed, especially to someone as gorgeous and talented as Alice. They’re a pair who so clearly love to party, have an incredible community of friends and family around them and make a perfect pair!

The wedding was spread around Alice’s cute family village, using their ancient local church (with the ceremony hosted by their family friend, an actual Bishop – appropriately named ‘Bishop Mike’), then they served Pimms in the sunshine outside the village hall over the road, before heading through Alice’s parents fab house into their garden for drinks, canapés and a delicious marquee meal. As Alice is a professional jazz musician, music was clearly a big deal for these guys, and pals from her musical outfits played them in and out of the church, as well as jazzing up the drinks reception, with a crescendo of not only a huge big band playing the night away, but the guests bullying Alice into singing a few numbers!

Then to wrap things up, they blindfolded drunk people and gave them a full-size baseball bat to batter a piñata to bits! Hilarious.

It was so lovely to shoot a wedding around a family home, with Millie the dog shuffling round and the whole village pitching in to make the perfect day. I hope you enjoy the pics as much as we did shooting them…
