Last Friday I joined one of my upcoming wedding couples, Clare & Rob, for their pre-wedding meeting at their venue Holdsworth House near Halifax.
It was great to catch up with them again. When they booked me I could tell immediately that they were a fun couple with cool ideas in mind.
After discussing logistics over a few coffees in the sun, we dived straight into the practice photoshoot!
I find it so useful to put my couples through the experience of being photographed by me before their big day.
Then they know what I’m looking for on the day & it makes being photographed one less thing to worry about.
Plus it’s a great opportunity to see if the couple up for messing about a bit…
Clare obviously thought Rob might like to try an impromptu wig!

This was one I particularly like of them both. It feels like a really relaxed moment.
Holdsworth House is a 17th Century Jacobean Manor and I love how it looks like it’s a building so old that it’s sighed and the middle’s sunk in on itself
In the grounds out front is a fun double seater lovers chair that we thought we’d do a few snaps in
Cool eh?
As spring has so definitely sprung, we also had a little bash at cuddling in front of the fresh blossom.
I love how natural they were in front of the camera.
I popped on my new 35mm f1.4 for a nice strolling shot.
We had two other characters to snap as well, as they’d brought their dogs along too!
As some of you may know, I’ve recently got a dog myself (meet Kyra here!). But look at these two lovely doggies!

There were so many natural portraits of Clare & Rob that I liked. They were so easy in front of the camera.
Round the corner we found another blossom tree under which to squeeze off another family lineup (before the dogs bounded off in a game of chase!)
I’m really looking forward to joining them for their wedding in May! I hope the practice shoot was helpful for them!
