May I whisk you off to the ‘changeable’ Yorkshire Dales for the wedding of Clare & Paul? Come on, don’t be shy.

We started our day at a Clare’s folks place; familiar to us as we’d photographed her sister Kate’s wedding the year previous!
It was cool to see Clare, Kate, Dom & Clare’s ace parents again.
In fact, here’s a photo on the mantelpiece I shot at Kate’s wedding! It’s always cool to see one’s work in print!
And as it happens, Clare bought Kate some apple tree seeds as a wedding prezzy, and these two apples were the very first fruit born off said tree!
Crazy eh?

Clare was over at Paul’s for the preps, and spotted this lovely blackboard in the kitchen.

Jinx, Paul’s best man said he’s never live it down if his mum saw him ironing. So I thought I’d post it, just in case.
The chaps had champers & pork pies! A Yorkshire combo made in heaven.

The gents timed things beautifully, with enough for a pint in pub over the road from the Church.
Back at Clare’s she was being laced in.
I like this backlit one of the bride and her maids.
Paul’s surname is Jowett, so they opted for an ace Jowett car! It was a beautiful old thing, tricked out only with a bit of SatNav

Clare & dad literally arrived on the dot at the lovely All Saint’s Parish Church in Ilkley. Sadly, not enough time in hand for a Betty’s cream tea.

I love Clare & Paul’s reaction when they noticed this old chap, who looks ace giving it the thumbs up.
Step outside and the rain started.
3 minutes later, blazing sunshine! One, two, three… THROW.
Depth of field, playing tricks on ya.
Clare & Paul’s reception was out in Cracoe, near Skipton out in the Yorkshire Dales.
The gateway to the Yorkshire Dales. Rylstone, down the road is famous for being the original home of the Rylstone Women’s Institute – whose members posed in the nud for a celebrated charity calendar. Some of the original characters were from Cracoe & their story became the film “Calendar Girls” starring Julie Walters and Helen Mirren.
Clare & Paul hired the Villiage Hall & dressed it beautifully.
I believe Paul proposed in Greece, and that s where they went for their honeymoon. To the Taverna…

Meanwhile, in a nearby field…
Our couple like nothing more than a stomp in the dales, so we decided to venture out into the Dales, walkin’ boots n’ all.
I like this side on ring & dress detail.
I love a bit of dry stone walling, though I’m always tempted to see if it pushes over.
It’s surprisingly hard. But with dedication…
Then, in true Dales fashion, with little warning at all it began to rain. What stars these two are!
Names & dates inside the rings. Carving inside a ring has got to be HARD.

I’m liking the table names.
But check out all that ouzo ouzo ouzo. It is an evil drink. The Greeks drink it with water, but that just prolongs the pain.

We’re normally fed sarnies and the likes by the catering staff, but White Rose Caterers let us get involved too, in exchange for pix!

It was seriously good fun being involved with Clare, Paul & their outstanding family & fun friends. I hope they had a fantastic time in Greece!
