Crab Manor and The Crab & Lobster – One of Yorkshire’s most fun boutique wedding venues!

The Crab and Lobster is one of my favourite wedding venues on the fringe of the Yorkshire Dales! It’s a boutique hotel in the truest sense – a quirky, kooky hotel, decorated with whimsy and adorned with all manor of random trinkets!

I mean, they’ve not only got an 7ft yeti who’s dressed in different outfits every time I visit, but there’s also a hidden beer tap that’s free for all those lucky enough to find it – what’s not to love!?

It’s a venue of many parts, with an old manor house, a load of unusual rooms (and ski lodges!), as well as a renowned gastro-pub that specialises in seafood!

Preparations and civil Weddings at Crab Manor are hosted in the conservatory, again dripping in obscure and funky trinkets! And as a photographer, it’s always lovely to shoot in conservatories full of light!

I love to inject a bit more fun and interest into the sometimes dull formal shots at a wedding!

The lawn outside the ceremony at Crab Manor is a great spot for reception fun and games…

It’d be rude not to get the yeti involved in the pictures before guests head down to the Crab + Lobster to eat (under the watchful gaze of both a full diving suit and a skeleton in a pram, hanging from the roof)!

How to choose the right Crab & Lobster wedding photographer?

Are they understanding of your needs and preferences? A professional photographer and good rapport and people skills will be better able to control the day and capture their vision.
3. Prior experience at wedding venues is important but not essential – A local wedding photographer familiar with your venue, and the best photo locations, can help keep things smooth on the day. Equally, meeting a photographer at a venue new to them helps find these locations together.
4. Professionalism is key – ensure that your chosen photographer has a reliable track record, glowing testimonials, and a clear, concise contract outlining their services.

Remember that while budget is an important factor, the value of timeless memories captured beautifully shouldn’t be underestimated. As much as selecting an amazing venue, amazing wedding photography is an investment in preserving your memories of your special day for years to come…

We cannot recommend Barnaby enough, we thought that the pre wedding photo shoot was great but the photos we've had back on the wedding blog have not only captured every detail of our day but the whole vibe and emotions. We cannot believe how we never even saw you taking most of these.  There are so many wonderful natural shots. As a couple who don't normally like to be photographed you put us at ease and captured us having a brilliant day, as well as getting all the formal shots we asked for. My daughter chose Barnaby as he came highly recommended and we were definitely not disappointed. He was everywhere!! He took so many photos, especially of things we would never have thought of and put them together in a digital album, that was fantastic. He put my daughter and everyone else at ease, we didn’t know he was there half the time. The photos were beyond our expectations. Barnaby is an absolute genius when it comes to photography, and you can see it in the shots he manages to produce effortlessly. He's such a warm and friendly personality, and was an absolute pleasure to have at our wedding. I can't recommend Barnaby highly enough. He photographed my graduation at the end of my medical school journey, and he made such a special day even more memorable. From start to finish, he was professional, friendly, and made me feel completely at ease in front of the camera.
