Last weekend I joined Debs + Paul for their country house wedding in Yorkshire at Bowcliffe Hall in Bramham, between Leeds and Wetherby!
First and foremost, they’d planned this day to about having fun with close friends and family, and that it was! (It obviously helped that a bunch of the guests were Scousers for raising the fun stakes!) But for all the life, emotion and laughter that this wedding exuded, you wouldn’t think it was a pandemic ‘micro-wedding’ with under 30 guests!
Debs (a financial planner) and Paul (a pilot) have been together no less than 32 years, and it was so obvious how much in love they still are. They were just so cute together! And a great looking pair to boot.
There was plenty of emotion to capture too, such as Deb’s dad bursting into tears on seeing her in the dress, or their daughter Evie’s teary ‘Best Person’ speech… I do love a bit of wedding emotion!
They couldn’t have picked a better venue too – Bowcliffe Hall is one of my favourite venues, packed with eccentric automotive memorabilia and imaginative design tweaks that make it much more than a normal country house venue. There are lounge covers of Radiohead and Nirvana being piped out of bushes around the grounds and even have their own fighter plane parked up! It’s also a centre for classic car collectors, so Paul’s vintage Jag E-Type looked just the part!
Becky and the team there did such a sterling job keeping everything smooth and easy, with a light touch and professionalism both out front and behind the scenes. Plus the canapes and meal were 100% delicious!

What a fab day hey!? It’s just so lovely to be back photographing weddings after such a hiatus, and days like these make me remember why I love this job so much!
