Last Saturday I jointed Pippa + Alex for their awesome wedding photos at Weetons Leeds Road (formerly Crimple Hall), Harrogate’s newest quirky wedding venue in a swanky garden centre!
I’ve been looking forward to this one for a while! Pippa & Alex are the coolest couple – with the coolest French Bulldog Winnie! – and had all kinds of fun ideas up their sleeves for this unique celebration…
I enjoyed a relaxed morning with Pip’s army of beauties at her family home in Boston Spa, while my wingman Matt joined the dudes and dog near Roundhay Park, trying to dodge yet more summer showers! Thankfully once we arrived, the sun put on its hat and we were able to enjoy the rest of the day, and – most importantly – the outdoor ceremony under the funky stretch tent! Guests arrived and were immediately handed tequila shots (win!) and the Harrogate Celebrant Rachael Meyer delivered a hilarious, colourful ceremony (with a surprise singalong of when I’m 64 by the grooms sister and best men!). It was fun to discover during the ceremony that these two actually went to school together, and on a school trip to China back in the day, though their sweetheart status didn’t kick in until after uni!
To mark the marriage, the cake was cut and (tequila-filled!) quake was drunk, and before we knew it, we’d hailed the newly-weds with confetti, smashed through a quick round of group pics (with Winnie of course!) and were skipping round the garden centre looking for interesting portrait spots! Then it was back for mingles, cake/nibblies and a few impromptu pal pics (such as the now complete, infamous ‘Three Musketeers’ hubs and wags team!)
The rooms and courtyard at the back of Weetons offer the perfect blank canvas for a completely unique wedding, under a sea of filament bulbs and in their stylish, industrial restaurant. Plus their awesome catering team kept guests canapé’d (if that’s a verb?) and watered, before sitting down to charming speeches and a delicious wedding ‘breakfast’! Matt & I were lucky enough to also enjoy the truffled chicken mains and WOW you can tell their chefs are sourcing top-end, locally sourced seasonal ingredients from the trusted suppliers they sell in their deli… Delish!
As evening descended, after a few cheeky flash portraits, the musicians who’d serenaded us during the ceremony / reception rounded up support and kicked off the party with their aptly-named function band ‘Start to Finish’! After a cute first dance and a shape-cutting knees up, before we hit the road, it was a bit gorgeous to catch a proud Father of the Bride dancing with his daughter to Stevie Wonder’s ‘Isn’t She Lovely?’… Can’t ask for more than that, hey?!
But enough chat already -time for pics! Settle back with a nice cup of Yorkshire Tea and enjoy their highlights slideshow below from this perfect Yorkshire Wedding…
In the meantime, feel free to share this loveliness to Facebook using the buttons at the bottom (or copy and paste the web address into a status), via my Facebook page here or hover to pin to Pinterest.
Here’s wishing these this lovely and their cute pooch huge congratulations!
