Yesterday I joined Laura + David for their relaxed wedding photography at The Cross House Lodge in Rydale the wedding and lodgings side of sensational Michelin Starred gastro pub, The Star Inn in Harome near Helmsley!

The oranges and reds in the trees made the journey over the North York Moors just perfect for this relaxed Autumn Yorkshire Wedding! And this ‘micro-wedding’ – as they’re becoming known – with just twenty or so guests, was such a wonderfully relaxed way to celebrate with close friends and family. Out with tradition, these guys weren’t afraid of seeing each other before their late 4pm ceremony! To the point that we even did a ‘first look’ style pre-ceremony photoshoot around 1pm, before a few hours with guests for drinks and canapés!

So before the civil service had even started in the stunning old Wheelhouse room there, we’d thrown confetti, done the group photos and portraits and all that lay ahead was fine food and drinks and chilling! And as it was November 6th, once the evening set in, we even managed to nip out and play with some sparklers.

In the middle of it all, as at all my favourite weddings, was a splendid couple, clearly in love. The only thing missing was Laura’s beloved horse Muffin, who I still tried to sneak into a pic!

It’s always lovely to join Andrew Pern and his professional, helpful team at The Star Inn as they’re arguably one of the best Michelin-Starred gastro pubs in Yorkshire (& there are options, let me tell you!). As foodies, Laura + David, treated their guests to a brilliant afternoon of nibbles and a meal to die for! I know this because they kindly fed it to me too! Nom nom nom…

I hope you enjoy this splendid day in the slideshow below, as much as I did taking them!

I’ll be uploading their full set of images to a password protected client area in just a few weeks, so if you’d like to be notified when all their images go live, register to be notified at: clients.barnabyaldrick.com/LauraAndDavid
