Last Saturday I joined the lovely Pru + Matt for their wedding photography in a field in the beautiful rolling Yorkshire hills near Farnley Tyas!

Now this was a fab day all round! A chilled out couple, stunning weather and locations, a pals cherished 1969 Mini called Edna and a host of fun family animals (including Bramble the beautiful Beagle, Alfie the Bernese Mountain Dog, Shetland Ponies called Pam & Margaret and 2 family sheep, Margo & Gloria)!

I started the day with a trip up nearby ‘Castle Hill’ – the Victorian monument visible from all around Hudds – then dipped in and out of the bride and groom’s morning preps at their childhood family homes. It’s kind of cool that these two actually grew up only 10mins apart! The wedding ceremony was hosted at St Lucius church in nearby Farnley Tyas, a minute up the road from the family’s second home, the Golden Cock Pub. (tongue in cheek ‘Cock’ jokes featured heavily in Paul, the Father Of The Bride’s speech!). After a blast of confetti, the groom took the wheel of Edna and trundled down a bumpy country lane to their James Dabbs & Co. Marquee in a field overlooking Emley Mast and the gorgeous countryside. The sun shon while Mandy and her team dealt delicious canapes and fizz to the hundred plus guests and a fab duo played guitar covers. It felt to good to be at a ‘normal’ wedding again, after all this pandemic madness!

Sitting down at tables named after favourite golf courses (Matt plays off an impressive 4!), speeches broke up the courses (mains were delicious beef joints carved by hatted guests!) and the evening slowly drew in. We were even blessed with a quick set of pics in the Golden Hour sunlight before the sun bid farewell. Then came the tossing of the bouquet (landing in grateful hands), cutting of the cake (expertly made by the groom’s sis Erica) and the first dance to the Beatles’ Twist & Shout! And then it was down to the ever excellent Warning Tones band to rock the night away!

And so to the pics! So grab a Yorkshire Tea and settle back to enjoy my slideshow of faves from this frankly wonderful wedding…
