Last Saturday I joined the Sophie + John for their fabulous wedding photos at St Michael’s Church in Kirklington, followed by a stunning marquee reception in a field by their lovely home in the rolling Yorkshire Dales around Bedale.
While my wingman Andy joined the chaps for a very ‘Liverpool Football Club’ themed morning of champagne & scones (red & white no less!), I headed joined the girls (and Bullet & Bertie the dogs) at Sophie’s home for their relaxed morning proceedings (also featuring champagne!)
The day was just a blast from start to finish, keeping some traditions and smashing others to touch! The service was managed by a hilarious, charismatic vicar called Cath, a friend (who’s wedding I also shot) belted out ‘You’ll never walk alone’ as they signed the register, and after a confetti runway & that old bribable-kids-tying-shut-the-litch-gate trick, the newly-wed headed off in a gorgeous old Landy Discovery to the reception.
It was a lovely summer’s afternoon for fizz, handpulled Yorkshire ales and delicious canapes in the poled marquee overlooking Bedale. Then after three cracking speeches and a delicious dinner, cheers was cut and in snuck the singing waiters to turn the room into musical chaos! The groom sang yet another LFC song (!) before the happy couple were coaxed onto the dancefloor (and the bride turned on her light up dancing shoes!), before a fab firework display and then straight into first dance and a boogie to a DJ accompanied by a Saxophonist! Non-stop action!
So grab a Yorkshire Tea and settle back to enjoy our slideshow of faves from this frankly very lovely day…
