One of the shoots on last weeks Leeds Guide brief was to photograph Miss Harrogate in various party frocks from the shops of Leeds.

Life is hard.

This one was probably my fave and has my vote for the issue cover.

Miss Harrogate is actually Vivienne Edge a pro model based in Leeds.  I didn’t know this until she turned up and it turns out she’d joined us for one of our 3B•Media flash days back in July – check the post here.  So it was great to already know that she was a pro and knew how to work it on camera.

On Leeds Guide days I only carry around what I can fit in a rucksack, so had fun trying to get the most out of 2 simple flashguns.  I’m liking the rim lighting on this one and soft diffused light from above right.

I love the pose in this one.  Viv looks like a wax model.

I was so grateful to have Ben Spear of Spearhead Design along to assist me.  He’s an affable & already very knowledgeable photographer who I bumped into while I was photographing a milkshake bar in Leeds.  He joined me for both days LG shoot and was invaluable when it came to holding the flashes during these setups.  Cheers Ben!

A bolder look.  Viv’s great eh?

We were in Chiliwhites in Leeds, which was formerly Townhouse.  It had all sorts of ace spots in which to play.  This one was in the back stairs.

This dress was from Harvey Nichols and cost about £2k! I love the fact that she’s on her way to the club room!

Again, I’m liking the rimlighting, and slight flare coming in from camera right.

A cheeky mirror in a corner made a lovely feature in this one.

This feels the sexiest shot to me, and I love the ice queen type lighting and processing.

So there you have it!  Loads of fun.  Thanks to Ben & Viv for being amazing!
