Last Saturday I joined Adele + Carl for their civil ceremony wedding photos at Leeds Town Hall, then we all headed for wedding photos at Kirkstall Abbey before heading for a private meal at Dakota Deluxe in Leeds City Centre!
It was a small but perfectly formed day – with only 11 guests including the happy couple – as they’re having a 300 strong wedding party next weekend!
This was an intimate, family-only affair and it was lovely to shoot this one solo and see all sides of the proceedings. I first joined the girls in Birkenshaw to document their fun morning (the brides hilarious cousins’ had come dressed as ‘French maids’ to sort breakfast and generally help out), and once the gang were dressed, I headed into town to meet the chaps in their Peaky Blinders themed newsboy hats at the Town Hall Tavern! It’s always fun to see the guys getting a bit more dressed up than usual, with funky tie pins and pocket watches.
Then after the quick civil ceremony we all headed 15minutes out of Leeds in two vintage style Beauford wedding cars, to Kirkstall Abbey for a portraits and groupshots! This was lots of fun (especially me forgetting all the guys names and calling them all Kevin). Finally, as darkness crept in, we headed back to the very swanky Dakota Deluxe hotel, off greek street in Leeds Centre, for a champagne reception and a few quick speeches, before leaving the wedding party to enjoy a delicious private meal!
All in all, a thoroughly lovely day!
