Yesterday I joined Simone & Stu for their big day around my hometown of Leeds! Â They held their wedding ceremony at Leeds Town Hall and hosted their wedding reception partying at The Foundry Wine Bar near Bridgewater Place in Leeds.
I hope you enjoy our the story of this special day!
While Clare wandered over to Malmaison  to join Stu and the chaps in Leeds, I headed through town and up Briggate to find the girls
Simone and the girls were having a whale of a time having their hair done at Westrow Hair in the Thornton’s Arcade
Simone & I go way back, and hung out through high school together, as well as doing a bit of travelling around Thailand with her and Stu; so it was brilliant to catch up with them, share their big day with them and to generally have a ball with their families and mental pals.
Afterwards, we headed back to Sim’s parents new place on the edge of Roundhay Park for the girls to doll themselves up!
LOVE THIS 50s DRESS!
Meanwhile, Clare joined Stu & Jimmy at Malmaison for their preps.
😉
One of my faves of the day
These dresses are all about the swirling!
Team bride – good to party!
The grand old Town Hall is a lovely spot to have a civil wedding!
More swirling!
While pals loaded up on the vintage coach we took the opportunity to do a few quick family shots
After having done a round of practice portraits earlier this week (post here on the blog), these kids were much happier posing for a few relaxed portraits!
Simone & Stu hosted their wedding meal & evening knees up at The Foundry Wine Bar near Bridgewater Place.
Phil & his team there were great and as Stu is a brilliant full-time chef, they had a task on their hands cooking up a storm for the masses
(They certainly didn’t disappoint; as we joined the guests for roast lamb dinner!)
As many of Simone & Stu’s friends are also in the catering industry, they did a guard of honour with wooden spoons & spatulas!
Then the gang got down to some good ol’ fashioned drinking and mingling in the Spring sunshine!
Needless to say, speeches were brilliant!
The cutting of mum’s cake!
Part of the evening’s entertainment was ‘Magic Al‘ (Gett i! magical!). His real name is Alan McIntyre & he’s seriously THE BEST close up magician I’ve ever seen.
The stuff he does simply blows peoples minds.
Then it was time to light up the dancefloor with their first dance to Madness ‘It Must Be Love’
Before pretty much everyone got involved on the dancefloor!
We even caught 80 year old gandma (giving it air guitar above) doing a shot of Yager! Â Legend.
It was a brilliant day all round and so lovely to see Sim & Stu officially contract their love after all these years! Â They’re such a wonderful, chilled out couple, who simply wanted to throw a relaxed celebration with good food, plenty of booze and a good ol’ knees up, and that’s exactly what they did!
Here’s to a very happy marriage indeed and a fab honeymoon in New York!
