It feels like a while since I shot a wedding, and I’m starting to get excited about gearing up for a busy wedding season!

Another part of my work is doing photographic training with 3B Media, teaching enthusiasts & aspiring photographers how to break into photography

One of our favourite courses to run is the One Day Weddings workshop, as we’ve lots of experience in the area.

We’ve got a workshop coming up on 4th April 2011 if anyone fancies learning how & why we do what we do.

My fellow 3B Media colleagues Phil Barber & Rob Booker & I are primarily wedding photographers, and we love teaching delegates how we approach weddings.

Between us we’ve photographed several hundred weddings and know the business inside and out, so together we’ve created a really practical, fun one-day workshop.  Based in a boutique hotel in Leeds, we focus on some useful classroom tips & technique, before getting out and about photographing couples in both a pre-wedding and wedding scenario, to give delegates a stunning set of portfolio images, as well as real-life practice on a real bride & groom.

We show delegates great posing techniques and how to get the most out of even the most nervous couple, in a pre-wedding and wedding scenario

This c0uple are friends of my partner Clare’s. Their wedding photographer lost their images, so they got dressed up again for another round with us!

I love this image Phil caught from the last workshop.

We had lovely flowers supplied by Fiona at Firenza Floral Design

Here’s one of our delegates practicing getting her tableshots down.

We really try to give delegates the need-to-know basics on organising themselves before, during and after the big day, with helpful workflow advice.

The One-Day Weddings workshop is not a gear-intensive course and offers a chance to build an amazing portfolio of images, as well as advice that will be repeatable on the wedding day.  A basic working knowledge on how to use your DSLR will be required, as we’ll be focussing less on technique and more on your style and approach. At only £275 per delegate including lunch and refreshments, this is a great investment for a photographer seeking to break into the business.

You can view full details of the workshop and book online via our website here.
