A few weeks back I joined the very lovely Sarah & Ed in Roundhay Park for their pre-wedding engagement shoot ahead of their impending big day.
We met up at The Lakeside and caught up on all the plans for the wedding over coffee and cake
The we (including their hairy daughter Hetty!) all took a stroll into the park!
I’m a huge dog lover and it’s always nice having a pooch around to steal the show!
These shoots are really about trying to help a couple relax in front of the camera, and get used to how it feels…
…but it’s hard to concentrate when there’s someone wanting to play, photobombing every shot! 😉
At the start it’s usually a bit awkard, 2nd guessing what I’m after etc, but I love capturing the laughter about how weird it all feels!
Family portrait!
A fine looking pair eh?!
I actually know Ed through his brothers, as I used to play cricket with one of them (who had the ace nickname ‘Crusher’!)
I always find these shoots a brilliant way to get to know the couple a bit better, to see what makes them laugh.
Turns out they’re great at making each other laugh, so we’re all laughing!
These guys aren’t actually getting married in Roundhay Park (because Dine do weddings at The Mansion), they’re actually getting married at the stunning Priory Cottages out in Syningthwaite near Wetherby in only a few weeks. Â But when I’ve photographed at a place lots of times, like I have at The Priory, I offer up the option to go somewhere the couple finds special on their pre-wed shoot.
Roundhay Park is special to these guys (and Hetty is a fan!)
Actually Roundhay Park is special to me also.
I grew up over the field from here and spent much of my formative years drinking cider in the pavillions & on the park benches!
So it’s always nice to shoot in a place I know so well.
Check out Ed’s best ‘dashing’! Win!
And so we end on my fave family pic of these lovely guys and their lovely pooch!
Really looking forward to their big day in a few weeks!
