Last weekend I joined Jacquie + Peter for their wedding photography at The Pheasant Hotel in Harome near Helmsley in North Yorkshire!
This was no regular wedding at the Pheasant either! This was the wedding of the owner of the Pheasant, Jacquie, who I’ve got to know well over the years photographing there – so it was quite the honour to be asked along.
Jacquie + Peter weren’t really after the usual getting ready pics and portraits galore, just asking for a relaxed story of the day. So myself and my wingman Andy Matherson, just hung out with the gang having a blast in the toasty sunshine.
The Pheasant is a super stylish country pub (known for amazing gastro pub food, like it’s famous neighbour The Star Inn), and on this day it looked fab dripping in all the gorgeous flora and details. But I especially loved how the wedding had been planned to contain guests to just the dining room for the ceremony and out on the terrace and lawn for the reception, meal and evening partying. It was ace seeing people outside playing cricket and having a dance as the sun set, with the sweet smell of BBQ smoke wafting over while the slightly more inebriated pals stole the mic for a bit of impromptu karaoke!
I do love photographing weddings in Yorkshire, and none more so that at The Pheasant Hotel we I do hope you enjoy the video of our highlights below…
I’ll be uploading their full set of images to a password protected client area in just a few weeks, so if you’d like to be notified when all their images go live, register your interest at: clients.barnabyaldrick.com/JacquieAndPeter.Â

What a lovely day hey! And how special to end with a sunset dance on the lawn…
