Yesterday I joined Sam + Josh for their wedding photos at The Tithe Barn at Bolton Abbey – a beautifully restored, ancient wedding barn, overlooking the Bolton Abbey estate in the Yorkshire Dales!
This lovely pair originally booked me back in 2018, for their intended wedding in April 2020, which as you may remember smack bang at the start of the first covid lockdown! So they’ve had a long wait until now to get to their big day at the beautiful Bolton Abbey Tithe Barn; but it was worth the wait!
After a bizarre week of snow and showers, the sun even put on his hat and lit up their preparations around Burley-in-Wharfedale / Ilkley and the rest of the day into beautiful Wharfdale! It’s the first time I’ve shot at The Tithe Barn and what a fab venue it was. After a gorgeous, relaxed civil ceremony and a few group pics, we dived into the Bentley and headed down to the Bolton Abbey Priory ruins for a few portraits. It’s such a picturesque, ancient site, on a kink in the River Wharfe, and made for a fab background for their couple pics.
After fizz and canapes, guests sat to a fab set of speeches (included a great turn from Josh’s ‘Best Woman’), then the caterers served delicious roast Beef Rib for designated guests to carve and serve! After dinner we were even able to take a little stroll in the ‘golden hour’ light before the sun set, and the evening shenanigans kicked off – including sparklers and an outstanding, choreographed father and daughter dance routine!
Sam + Josh are such a lovely pair and just relaxed into the day and the company of their lovely guests, and it was an absolute blast!
