Yesterday I joined Kate + Tom for their funky wedding photography at Lineham Farm just outside Leeds, and a seriously cool Barn Wedding Venue in Yorkshire!
Lineham farm is a unique farm space that spends its weeks as an charitable outdoor children’s centre and its weekends a blank space for creative couples to put their own touch on a DIY Barn wedding.
This 17th-century farmhouse, set in 120 acres of outstanding natural beauty, is the perfect place to provide disadvantaged children (and advantaged wedding guests!) much-needed respite and fun. There’s goat petting and ping pong and a host of simple lodgings for guests to crash after the action. Plus, the money they make from weddings goes directly into the charitable work they do, so it’s win win!
And what an imaginative stamp this lovely pair they put on this day! From how cool they looked in Kate’s stunning embroidered pink dress and Tom’s emerald velvet tuxedo jacket, to the gourmet ice cream van / incredible cocktail ‘wower’, everything was classy yet relaxed. After their outdoor woodland ceremony, they were played down the aisle by the Top Tier Brass band, who had reception guests grooving away to well known covers. Speeches and the meal were also a casual affair, with speakers from across the wedding party, followed by pimped bbq fodder from a huge street food truck. In the evening we managed to get a few extra snaps in the most incredible golden hour light before heading in for the first dance…
Unbeknown to EVERYONE though, Kate got up on stage and sang a song with the band dedicated to their shared love of Taskmaster – which made Tom’s eyes leak!
Then the Electric Idols band got the dancefloor jumping – even playing topical requests for Oasis, after their recent reformation – and it was fantastic to see old and young all getting stuck in, wrapping up a frankly perfect day!
It wasn’t entirely perfect for me though, as the moment we got to the farm gates, my second shooter received a shocking call to say his father had died, so I had to drop him straight home. Thankfully, my most excellent photography buddy Danny Rich was a guest at the wedding, and packed his camera to help shoot the ceremony. So HUGE high 5’s go out to him (and his understanding fam!) for the support.
I’m so pleased with the pics from this beautiful sunny day, so enough chat already… Grab yourselves a mug of Yorkshire Tea and enjoy their highlights slideshow below:
I’ll be uploading their full set of images to a password protected client area in just a few weeks, so if you’d like to be notified when all their images go live, register to be notified at: https://barnabyaldrick.pic-time.com/-katetom/register
(NB: I’ll only use your email address to notify you about their gallery)
In the meantime, enjoy the gallery below too, and feel free to share this loveliness from my Barnaby Aldrick Facebook Business Page (or using the URL) or by hovering over images to pin to Pinterest.
Enjoy!
What a day hey? It was just magic to join this fun pair to share in the love and fun at this unique day!
Huge Congrats to the new Mr + Mrs!
