Last Saturday, my wingman Jamie & I joined Ilona + David for their stunning autumnal wedding at Rowton Castle near Shrewsbury in Shrophire!
This exclusive use castle wedding venue makes the perfect setting for a romantic celebration! It’s a 17th Century, pink sandstone Grade II listed building that’s almost Disney-like in castley-ness! And at this time of year, it’s sat in 17 acres of tranquil grounds, turning all the shades of Autumn – it’s frankly magical!
And hosting their wedding here were Ilona + David, an adorable pair who I’ve been lucky enough to see at a few previous weddings. It was loads of fun to see familiar faces again, and to enjoy all the shenanegans of the day! Especially a bit of kilt-based entertainment (Many of David’s family are from Glasgow) so a morning defrocking and catching a moment of Ilona having a peek made me smile! And I do love a wedding full of Scotts letting their hair down – The Scottish grans and granddads were still on the dancefloor when we finally left…
All in all, it was a fun day had by all. A lovely groups of guests, fun groomsmen, a beautiful set of bridesmaids and their kids Theo & Grace front and centre as page boy & chief bridesmaid.
