Yesterday I joined these cool cats, Sarah & James to photograph their cracking wedding at the amazing Mitton Hall!
Not only is Mitton Hall a wicked place to photograph a wedding, but I’ve become buddies with Sarah & James in the run up to their big day and it was a blast hanging out with them and enjoying the party with their guests.
I joined Sarah & her maids for a bit of hair action in GarstangÂ
I love that our ‘Bride To Be’ had her garter on!
Back at the girls I decided to hang Sarah’s brilliant white, sparkly gown on the lounge door.
Sarah’s Dad’s a bookie and the house was full of cool horsey memorabilia…
…as well as some impressive images of Sarah as a wee girl!
Meanwhile, in the kitchen, the girls laughed their way through donning their faces & eating bacon butties.
I shuffled off and photographed the details, including these tasty wedding kicks…
…and Sarah’s sparkles!
I love this shot I caught of this bridesmaid unawares! Â She’s was an absolute star, but this image totally shows the teenager in her!
In the garden outside I snapped Sarah’s beautiful flora.
Meanwhile, Clare joined James & the chaps, larking about while they got ready at their old uni halls
Here they are all booted and tailed at the college entrance.
On the way to the church they stopped in at Mitton Hall to help dad do his cufflinks!
Back with the ladies the wedding cars had turned up…
And Sarah was getting into her dress! Â I love how her proud mum kissed her hand. This is one of my faves of the day; catching Dad taking in his beautiful daughter on her special day.Once the girls were dressed Sarah’s gave them all surprise necklaces!
And here we are set to go!
Over at the church in Clitheroe, guests arrived & settled in!
And before we knew it here comes the bride!
I liked Clare’s shot of the kiss from the back! Her confetti shot looked great too!A quick cheers with some bubbles and off they drove for Mitton Hall! Before guests arrived we did a quick set of portraitsAwww.I love their colour scheming!Bit of a smooch on the bench
You can tell the pre-wedding practice shoot we’d done a few weeks before (images in this post here) helped, because they were relaxed and fun in front of the camera.I like this one of all family outside the hall. And this one of James looking as tall as his best men!
Check out this little cutey!
The afternoon reception was great fun and guests enjoyed the sunshine inside and around Mitton Hall.On the lawn round the back games of jenga & croquet were enjoyed.
But I have to say my favourite thing about the whole place are the paintings of dogs in smart costumes! The wedding breakfast room & cake looked mint, crossed with flashes of Cadbury’s purple. As guests sat down, they all had individual, personal messages written to them by the bride & groom! Â Nice touch.I caught this one of them after the hall, before they were announced in by Dave, Mitton Hall’s legendary Master of Ceremonies.Speeches before desert were great, striking the perfect balance of touching, amusing and not too ripped off from google!
In the spirit of Sarah’s Dad’s bookie / horseracing connections, the wedding favours were in fact betting slips for a horse race they specially projected onto the wall, and, commentated by a pro commentator, winners received a healthy bar tab! Genuius!
After dinner Sarah & James rounded up all their friends for a pic on the lawn
And Sarah wanted to be held by all James & his strapping boys.
It seemed unfair not to left James have a turn too.
I love this one of the new Mrs & Mrs enjoying their first dance with friends, before the party really started.
Thank you Sarah & James for asking us to be a part of your special day! Â We felt so involved and enjoyed every minute.
Here’s to a wonderful honeymoon in the Dominican Republic & to a happy life together!
