Last weekend I joined Claire + Matt for their relaxed summer wedding photos at The Pheasant Hotel in Harome near Helmsley in North Yorkshire!
This was a wedding I photographed on my own, and it was lots of fun stopping in with the boys for a quick set of prep pics at their lovely home in Sutton-on-the-Forest before joining Claire and the bridal crew in Sproxton in the Howardian Hills. After heading over the North York Moors and through Helmsley, they had a beautiful service at St Saviour in Harome (I love the vicar there – she’s absolutely fab!), and through a hail of confetti, the guests wandered round to the duck pond and up the lawn to enjoy the sunshine on the verandah, with fizz and delicious nibbles from the Pheasant’s shiny new kitchen! The sit down meal was as delicious as we’ve come to expect from this gastro delight, then for a slightly more relaxed vibe, guests went back out onto the terrace for the speeches.
After a few more pics in the evening sun, a quick toss of the bouquet and a few more glasses of fizz, it was suddenly time to cut their magnificent macaroon cake, then throw some well choreographed shapes to their first dance choice Ellie Goulding’s ‘How Long Will I Love You?’, and then the party really started with their Ceilidh band ‘Triple Scotch’ – who did a wicked job at keeping guests dancing in the Pheasant’s conservatory, in spite of it pretty much being the summer equinox and still being daytime at 10pm!
I do enjoy photographing weddings in Yorkshire like this, and none more so that at The Pheasant Hotel we I do hope you enjoy the video of my highlights below…
