Last Saturday I joined Emma + Richard for their fab wedding photos at The Three Acres gastropub on the outskirts of Shelley near Huddersfield, in West Yorkshire!
On the tops of Kirklees, nestled beneath Emley Moor mast, I joined Emma, team bride & Paploo the Ewok Teddy for their relaxed preparations in The Suite at The 3 Acres. After getting into her stunning dress we dived in a beaitufl old split screen VW Campervan and headed to All Saints Church, in the charming Yorkshire village of Cawthorne, excitedly awaited by Emma’s Dad and their cute little lad Seb!
‘Canon Keith’ conducted a charmingly amusing ceremony, keeping everyone chuckling throughout, and before we knew it, the newlyweds headed down the aisle into congraulatory cuddles and a hail of confetti!Â
As guests (and my wingman Ben) headed back to The 3 Acres for their signature blend of yummy canapés and fizz, Emma, Rich & I nipped round the corner for wedding pictures at Cannon Hall! Their pretty walled gardens made for a significantly less windy backdrop than the pub!
Only a short turn later, we were back in the 1974 Brazillian-made Camper heading over the beautiful rolling hills to join the guests for a few, somewhat blustery, teamshots! Back in the glow of The 3 Acres, guests settled down for a frankly INCREDIBLE wedding dinner! No soggy veg and chicken with a bone here, this was a wedding breakfast for food lovers! Known in the areas for it’s their own distinct take on traditional British classics, you can tell their chef enjoys the simplicity of the local provenance, perfectly done! They were kind enough to let us also order off the wedding menu, and it might be the best steak and chips I’ve ever had at a wedding! Wow.
After the meal Dad, Rich & the best man delivered entertaining, touching speeches, and it was lovely to learn Emma + Rich have actually known each other for over 30 years! I know both of them through various connections, and they’re such a lovely pair. It was a real pleasure to hang with them and join them for this very special day.
After dinner, their photobooth team got the party going and props out, and before we knew it, it was time for a dance! Then it was hard to stop Emma’s Dad and fab grandad tearing up the dancefloor!
As a full, waxing red moon started rising, we did a few final pics looking over the dusky tops, and I bid this lovely pair farewell!
I couldn’t have hoped for a nicer couple and a more perfect Yorkshire Wedding. I hope you enjoy my slideshow and story photos below…
