Last weekend I was lucky enough to shoot at brand-new, stylish wedding barn ‘The Oakwood at Ryther’, by the gang at the equally lovely exclusive barn Wedding Venue Hornington Manor.
The stars of the show were Katie + Sam – a fab pair from nearby Tadcaster, who rocked a full-scale, post pandemic wedding with all the (wedding) bells and whistles!
I joined their army of beautiful bridesmaids (and an adorable little flower girl who’d given herself a harry potter lighting bolt a few days previously!) for a relaxing morning with bacon butties and champagne, having their hair and makeup done in the airy converted barn overlooking Yorkshire’s stunning arable countryside. Meanwhile Sam, more a fan of football than photography, chose to dodge preparation photos and have the second shooter Joe join him at the ‘Coach and Horses’ pub in central Tadcaster for a few sharpeners with the boys before a short walk to the family church in central Tad.
The ceremony in St Mary’s was a relaxed affair with a chilled-out vicar (and the first I’ve seen singing allowed)! Afterward, a few hugs and a big confetti toss, they dived back in the Beauford and headed back to the Oakwood for delicious nibbles and drinks in balmy sunny afternoon weather. A few relaxed portraits, couple photos and afternoon mingling, and the masses headed into the Old Grain Store for speeches, a yummy meal and the evening shenanigans (with a fish and chip van even thrown in, for soaking up all the booze!).
It’s so lovely to see this generations-old family farm converted into such a perfect place to celebrate Katie + Sam’s special day!
So enough waffle! Grab y’sen a mug of Yorkshire tea (or something stronger!) and hit play on the slideshow below to check out their wedding highlights slideshow…
I’ll be uploading their full set of images to a password protected client area in just a few weeks, so if you’d like to be notified when all their images go live, register to be notified at: clients.barnabyaldrick.com/KatieAndSam
(NB: I’ll only use your email address to notify you about their gallery)
In the meantime, feel free to share this loveliness to Facebook using the buttons at the bottom (or copy and paste the web address URL into a status), via my Facebook page here or hover over the images to pin to Pinterest too!
Here’s wishing these guys a lifetime of happiness (fingers crossed) a honeymoon of some sort!
