Last Friday I joined Olivia + Andreas for their wedding photos at Wharfedale Grange between Harewood and Harrogate, in North Yorkshire!
And after all these years hearing about it, it was ace to finally shoot there!
On the weather front, it started as a slightly suspect spring day, but playing out between showers my wingman Ben + I captured a fab set of pics of this beautiful pair and their fun wedding story!
Ben joined Andreas (and a few extremely hungover groomsmen!) at Cedar Court Hotel in Harrogate, while I caught Olivia and team bride in Wharfedale Grange’s boldly decorated Grade II Listed Georgian Farmhouse for morning preparations.
After buttonholes were affixed and Olivia’s stunning Elena Ferrara gown donned, dad ran in for a giant cuddle and down we headed to the ceremony, under the blazing spotlights of the North Barn!
Then we headed out into courtyard, through a hail of confetti, for fizz & nibblies – provided by the always brilliant Hog + Apple caterers – plus a few painless groupshots in front of the Yorkshire hills.
Braving damp ground, we headed for a quick round of romantic portraits in front of WG’s Yorkshire stone wall and under wooden arches by the lake, in their pretty grounds, before returning to the party to mingle.
A mean wedding breakfast was later served in the South Barn, after fun speeches (one from Olivia’s mum, which is always refreshing!) – and in the background a thunderstorm threatened to rob us of power!
Once cleared, we took a quick turn in the evening sun before first dance, held under vintage chandeliers and a vast rose gold mirror ball! A confetti canon signalled guests to pile on, including a live saxophonist to lift party vibes!
It was a great first time at Wharfedale Grange, and Claire and the team micro-managed every detail like a well-oiled machine.
It was the second time I’ve papped this lovely family too (I shot Jo + Aris’ wedding at Goldsborough Hall last September!) – so it was fab to see everyone again (and to chat with a guests who’s a wedding registrar I’ve met so many times at work!)
All in all, it was the perfect Yorkshire Wedding, and I hope you enjoy the wedding story highlights below from this very special day…
