Yesterday I joined Hayley + Adam for their Autumnal wedding photography at The Priory in Syninthwiate, a stylish wedding barn on a working farm near Wetherby in Yorkshire!
This family-orientated couple threw a right ol’extravaganza of a wedding! The morning was a bit of a blur, surrounded by their 6 kids and a 19-strong wedding party! But everyone was somehow ready on time and Hayley looked gorgeous and Adam super sharp in his light blue suit. The ceremony was lovely, followed by a shower of guests’ confetti from over the balcony. Then ducking in and out from the Autumn weather, we managed to nail group pics and portraits while still leaving Hayley + Adam some quality time with their near and dear.
I really enjoyed hearing the hilarious and moving speeches from all three of the usual suspects, but especially the Father of the bride – an old friend of mine – who delivered a really touching speech to his step daughter.
After their delicious meal (by the lovely Taste Cuisine) the brides mum had arranged surprise Singing Waiters, to sneak in and burst into song after deserts! They lit the room up and the conga lines snaked round the marquee, the groom was up on the shoulders of the guests, and girls and boys were doing dance offs to covers of Tina Turner and The Kings of Leon! They even did a final encore of a Leeds United chant, which certainly went down well with the Leeds Supporters!
After messing about on the Photobooth, bonfire night set in, and sparklers were clearly the order of the evening! In a ‘herding fog’ like act, we somehow got everyone outside for a sparkle! A quick ice cream from the ice cream van later, and everyone retreated back into the warm for cocktail hour, to watch the cutting of the cake, see their first dance and then pile on the dancefloor for a boogie!
You couldn’t ask for more really… A lovely day all round! I do love a wedding at Priory Cottages, it just such a lovely venue, and amazingly well run by the amazing co-ordinators Serena, Amy & Kat!
