Lakeside marquee wedding at Alderford lake, near Whitchurch, Shropshire

I recently joined Steph+Joe for their wedding photography at St Chad’s Church in Hamner and for their marquee reception at Alderford Lake, near Whitchurch in Shropshire!

It was a beautiful day, in a stunning part of the world, and it was a real pleasure to join my old pal Joe to document the nuptuals! I first met Joe back in 2010 when we joined aLink International charity convoy to deliver some vehicles to a charity mission in Uganda. I was documenting it, and we had a real blast, driving up through Kenya with the team. So it was lovely to hear from him when he and Steph got engaged and asked me down to join them!

The day was a lovely affair, with my wingman Martyn & I joining them for their chilled out preparations, a stunning ceremony in the magnificent Hamner St Chad’s Church (where apparently a King of Wales was once married!), before heading to their marquee reception by the side of the Alderford Lake (former Dearnford Lake). The weather was a bit unpredictable, and while it chucked it down through the meal, it played ball when we needed it and kicked out a killer sunset in the evening! So much fun was had through the day, including the guests carving their own roast beef dinners in chef hats, a secret Marvel cake, ice cream / fish+chip vans turning up for evening guests and an amazing live band (including a surprise guest performance!)!
