Introducing the fabulous, the stylish, the glamourous Angie & Pete:
A few weeks back I joined Angie & Pete for their winter wedding at Woodlands Hotel in Leeds. It was cold and overcast, but loads of fun. I shot their pre-wed with their cool daughter Louise a few weeks prior at Kirkstall Abbey and it was ace to hook up with them again. While Clare pottered over to the gents getting their kilts on (and thongs!) I caught up with Angie at their home round the corner. I think I made that choice wisely…
While Ange had her hair done in the lounge…
Lou answered the door to get the flowers, and the whole thing got a bit much for one of the bridesmaids.
I liked this cute little note I spotted next to a present on Angie’s bed.
A fine set of ‘kicks’, as they say Stateside.
I was lovin’ the details on Angie’s dress.
Over at Woodlands Hotel, things were afoot with the gents
Pete & his groomsmen were workin a fine set of kilts (in spite of no Scottish heritage!) and one of his men was toying with a fine thong.
Pete (centre) had a proper awesome outfit. I love it when the guys put a bit more flair into the threads.
Especially one which allows such easy warming of the cockles by the fire.
Here are a few more details of Pete’s attire
Including sporen, Sgian Dubh (the decorative Scottish knife, pren: Skian-Doo) & a fine set of Superman jockeys.
I love this one Clare caught of the chaps having a brandy in the bar.
I’m really pleased with this ringshot. I love my 100mm & the off camera flash vibe.
Back at the ladies hair was being finalised
before Angie climbed into the dress
And nearly had my eye out with something blue
while a bridesmaid tried not to have mum’s eye out
The finished article! What a star.
Flora!
Wheels!
Then we all skidaddled over to St James Church in Tong for the ceremony.
After a pint or two down the road, the gents settled in while guests arrived.
Here comes the bride!
I love this one of Clare’s as Angie was escorted in.
The vicar wasn’t into photographers and I got the dreaded ‘neck-cut’ impression from Clare as I caught up with her at the church, meaning minister says NO photography. We didn’t have time to really chat him up, but persuaded him to let us squeeze a few out shots during hymns and appropriate moments. Not ideal, but we caught some sly shots to document the ceremony.
You may kiss the bride…
You may kiss the bride again!
One… two… three… throw.
And off they shot in the Beauford
My blogs often get a bit epic in length, so click more below for, erm, more.
Over at Woodlands, in the fading light and biting cold, Angie & Pete had a kiss and a cuddle for the cameras
Meanwhile, the helpful Master of Ceremonies rounded up the family group shot, and a bit of heckling began. Hence the V’s!
The wedding party!
I like this relaxed portrait of the ladies
And this little chap, hiding beneath!
And a relaxed port of the gents
Inside the Woodlands marquee it was great to see they’d got a lighting team in to light the walls & roof, creating a great ambience later on
During the speeches, Pete recalled tails of meeting Lou, causing much embarrassment!
A nice catch of Pete cheersing (word?) Ange.
Cakey cakey cakey!
Note the ceremonial three-knifed ceremonial sword!
And who works the big blade!
You may have noticed Pete bears more than a passing resemblance to a certain 80’s one-hit-wonder celebrity…
Let’s just say this isn’t their sirname…
After the 1st dance, I was pretty convinced was he never gonna give her up, never gonna make her cry, turn around, or desert her.
Which coincidentally, his pals had lined up with Mr DJ for the 2nd dance!
Pete took it all in good humour!
See what a difference having lit walls made during the evening’s photography!
The gang set about throwing some moves about as we called it a night…
What a fun day and an ace couple and family. We had loads of fun and it was lovely to join Angie & Pete in celebrating their big day!
I hope their honeymoon in Mexico was amazing!
