Today I took the train to Nottingham to join these jetsetters for their pre-wedding catch up and practice photography shoot!
Lisa is from near Birmingham and Tomas from Prague, and they met each other and now live in Australia! So they’ve just landed in the country ahead of their wedding at Shustoke Farm Barns near Coleshill this Thursday! I always like to catch up with my couples ahead of their big day, to talk through the schedule and put them through a round of portraits, to make the process easier on the big day. So instead of meeting near Birmingham, Lisa & I thought it’d be fun to meet in Nottingham, where she (and coincidentally, I!) went to Uni, and have a wander around the Lace Market, which houses some of Nottingham’s fine historical buildings and some trendy bars! Then afterwards, she could show Tomas around her uni city, have a relaxing mosey round the shops and grab some lunch.
As I arrived by train, I thought it’d be fun to literally stroll up memory lane, and take a few pics around the city, on the way over to Hockley and the Lace Market.
I love how stern the lions look in Nottingham!
We met for a coffee and catch up at Nottingham’s Pitcher and Piano, which was once a church that has been brilliantly turned into an upmarket bar!
Afterwards, I put them through a round of pics to show them how it feels.
It’s always a helpful experience, as is shows my upcoming couples that the portraits needn’t be super staged and lame, and can be a laugh!
These guys certainly seemed to laugh a lot! And these are my faves from our mosey…
Stay tuned for the official wedding pics on the blog on Friday!
