Yesterday I joined Ania & Richard for their wedding celebrations at The Pheasant in Harome, near Helmsley over the North Yorkshire Moors!
They’re a lovely pair, who’ve been together for going on 20 years, and decided earlier this year to get married in Central Park in New York, accompanied by 6 close friends! They asked me along to photograph the UK leg of their celebrations, with a larger group of friends and family, all dolled up to the nines in black tie and cocktail dresses! Besides Ania’s beautiful frock and two little flower girls, there wasn’t a ceremony or anything formal, just a lovely afternoon mingling with great company, a fab folky band, and delicious canapés and an evening meal.  After the meal, it was great to catch up with Jo & Joe, and their little daughter / flowergirl Ella, who’s wedding I shot back in July 2011!  Then band bolstered it’s numbers with a singer and drummer for the night do, and after a quick costume change, our happy couple kicked off the dancing to a night’s solid boogying!
I love shooting at The Pheasant – with it’s fab tweedy decor, beautiful rooms and fab food – and it’s in the same village as equally ace Star Inn (known for it’s incredible Michelin Starred grub – which many of this group sampled the night previously). It’s such a lovely part of the world, and the perfect spot to host a very Yorkshire wedding celebration.
So – here are a taste of my highlights from the story of Ania & Rick’s big day at The Pheasant…
A fun day hey!  What a lovely couple and a fab bunch.  It was a pleasure to spend the day with everyone – and a big thanks to my little 8yr old wingman Adam for holding my flash for me! High 5 buddy!
We’d shot a few practice pics the day before on their way up to North Yorkshire, so I thought it’d be rude not to share!
Congratulations Ania & Rick! Here’s to a lovely life together
