Yesterday I joined Lauren + Steve for their wedding celebrations at The Pheasant in Harome, near Helmsley over the North Yorkshire Moors!
In mid-winter (as often with mid-summer in this country!) you just don’t know what the weather’s going to be like, but Lauren + Steve lucked out yesterday! They were blessed with a beautifully crisp winter’s day, all day long, and we were treated to the most glorious misty golden sunrise on the way up the highways and byways over the North York Moors to the typically Yorkshire village of Harome. There was also a spot of luck that Lauren only just managed to lose the giant boot strap protecting her squash-injured broken leg last week! Phew.
Their preparations were (on the whole!) really relaxed, and after a lovely service in the ancient St Gregory’s Minster in Kirkdale, the party headed back to The Pheasant for canapes and mulled wine, magic and mingles! Lauren looked radiant (in spite of me dragging her through the winter muck… Eeek!), the dudes dapper in their black tie, and the bridesmaid’s sparkled in sequin gowns. Plus I just love The Pheasant; not just for it’s amazing food & brilliant staff, but also the homely but fantastically stylish tweedy country lodge stylings. It’s also in the same village as equally ace Star Inn (known for it’s incredible Michelin Starred grub).
This part of the country such a lovely part of the world, and the perfect spot to host a very Yorkshire wedding celebration.
Check it out – here are a taste of my highlights from the story of Lauren + Steve’s winter wedding at The Pheasant…
Fab day hey! What a lovely pair…
I think we should raise a glass to the power of Plenty of Fish!
So here’s wishing Lauren & Steve (& their lovely pooch Jasper) massive congratulations and I hope you all have a fabulous life together!
