Last Saturday I joined Felicity + Ben for their beautiful wedding photography at Newburgh Priory near the village of Coxwold, in God’s own county of Yorkshire!
It was was a bit of a blustery one, but still made for a fab Autumnal wedding. The girls got ready in Ben’s dad’s amazing house (read: hall!) overlooking the church the ceremony was going to be in, while Hamish photographed Ben & the boys getting ready at The Pheasant, a stunning country hotel in Harome not far away. The ceremony was beautifully handled by Margaret – the a lovely stand-in vicar – before a windy confetti blast and straight to Newburgh Priory to gather round the gigantic fireplaces around Newburgh Priory. This stunning building, originally an Augustinian priory founded in 1145, became a family home following the dissolution of the priory in 1538 and is still owned by a lovely family who do all kinds of good work in their community.
Once we’d whistled through family groups + portraits and the canapés reception was done, guests filtered into a beautifully decorated marquee – literally set in the ruins of the old Priory – for speeches and a delicious meal, before messing about on our photobooth and taking to the dancefloor for a boogie to the ace function band ‘Under The Cover’! All in all – a fab day all round!
As well as this highlights blog, I’ll be uploading their full set of images to a password protected client area in a matter of weeks, so if you’d like to be notified when all their images go live, register your email address at: clients.barnabyaldrick.com/FelicityAndBen. (NB: I’ll only use your email address to notify you about their gallery)
So – enough chat! Here are the highlights which hopefully tell the story of this special day…
What a lovely day hey?!
Here’s Hamish & I wishing this beautiful pair (& their pooch!) huge congratulations and a very happy life together!
