Yesterday, I joined Sally & Tom to photograph their beautiful wedding at Taitlands, near Settle in The Yorkshire Dales!
The 5-day forecast had been predicting doom & gloom all week, but ended up being almost entirely rain-free; making for a wonderfully relaxed afternoon drinks reception, with games in the walled garden to movie soundtrack covers from the Giggleswick and Settle Brass Band!  While Tom was from Essex, Sally’s family are fiercely proud Yorkshire-folk, so the day featured a fun Yorkshire theme throughout (such as table names being national parks of England, with The Yorkshire Dales as the top table).  And the setting, in the rolling hills around Settle made for the perfect place to set a Yorkshire wedding.
It really makes me feel proud to be from ‘God’s Own County’ when I head up there!
(Though just in case things got too Yorkshire for his Southern Pals, Tom supplied a keg of ale from his local brewery in Colchester…)
My wingman Ben Spear and I really enjoyed witnessing Sally & Tom tie the knot at their early 11am ceremony, which left a long day to mingle with all their friends and family, and plenty of time for squirmy portraits!  The guests were also loads of fun to pap in our Vanity Fair style groupshots!
I hope you enjoy the story of their wedding day!
So here’s wishing Sally & Tom massive congratulations and all the very best indeed for a very happy life together!
x
